How about starting GM for ULM?? ( Not a JPW bash thread)

The "ego" he's playing with now ain't getting us nowhere. He's petrified in the pocket and has mentally broke. His "ego" is the least of concern. The best interest of the team is the first priority. JPW needs to man up.

I agree that he needs to "...man up." But so does the OL, WRs, and RBs.

The only thing I worry about is our depth at QB is next to nothing.

The OL did a good enough job to win yesterday. They made their mistakes but the mistakes that killed us was directly from the decision making and arm of JPW. The wr's are to share some of the blame but in their defense it's high time for them to stop having to make great catches from poorly placed balls. Their drops were mistakes but they weren't critical. JPW's 100 yd int return, throwing into triple coverage after halftime for another int, and simply mentally crumbling were the death blows for this team.

Our depth at qb isn't good. It's being said that GM's arm is WEAKER than JPW's. If that's the case don't bother putting him in. I read on Star Jackson's profile from either scout that one of his weaknesses is ARM STRENGTH and release. Go figure, now we've got another qb coming in that has arm strength concerns.

Look, I am as disappointed as the next Bama fan, but if you sit Wilson for the ULM game, then there is no way that you can go back to him for the Iron Bowl. Yeah, his offensive line was a patchwork line yesterday, but the kid has got to stop throwing the ball to the other team! I think that you have to start JPW against ULM, let the kid work out of the funk from the MSU game, and then sub in GM in the second half. If what Jess says is true, and the Textbook 5 will be back for 'Barn, then we can still win that game.

:BigA:

That's what will probably go down. I look for JPW to bounce back and have a field day against a weak and beat up ULM secondary. There is no way they match up with our Receivers and even a patchwork O-Line should contain their pass rush. The only threat ULM will bring to the table is Calvin Dawson. He is a legit SEC caliber RB that put up 100+ yards on us last year. If we can contain him, which isn't a given, then I see us up 3 TD's by Halftime. Then GM will get his PT in the Second Half and hopefully do enough right things to get PT against Auburn should JPW slide back into the funk you refer to.

if we plan to start jpw against auburn, then you have to start him against ulm.

otherwise, it makes no sense.

either start jpw against ulm, let him air it out early and often to help his confidence going into the iron bowl, or sit him and plan on playing gm on the plains.

i don't think reverse psychology will work for wilson.

that said, if he starts the ulm game and looks like he did saturday, then you pull him as soon as you realize it and let gm take the reigns and prepare for him as the starter against the barn.

personally, i think saban should have pulled jpw after the second int...but i'm not getting paid $4million a year to make these decisions.

i NEVER thought i'd be saying this, but with jpw at the helm, i think we have a quarterback crisis at the capstone.

if gm or nf can't beat him out in the spring, i think we're in trouble under center next season.

I don't understand why anyone thinks we are being negative or "bashing" John Parker when we wanted to see him sit on the bench...

If someone doesn't cut the cake, you find someone who does,

Put GM into the QB position and see wether or not he is a better decision maker than John Parker,

GM is wanting to show what he can do -- we should let him!

Spot on . . .

You have to start JPW against ULM. For multiple reasons already mentioned. However, I feel strongly that he and GM need to be told that GM is getting a series or two early and follow through with that. Give JPW a chance to work the kinks out, regain some confidence. Give GM some valuable playing time and experience. If GM shows that he can play and handle the offense, then you have confidence in the Auburn game that you can pull JPW if necessary. It's really as simple as that.

If for anything else....we need to give GM some more snapps....if AU comes after JPW like they did BC a few years ago, we need someone who can come in and run the offense....am I wrong?? :PDT_thk:
