How do we get the swagger back the spring after the bowl loss?

1. You don't need to get the swagger back. You need to get back to fundamentals and hard work, which CNS will have NO problem.

2. You need to continue to evaluate each position and make changes where needed. Again, CNS... Check.

3. Recruit well. BIG Check.

The process is moving along well - thanks to some unpredictable collapses in the SEC West and some over-achieving we seemed to be a bit ahead of schedule but I think the Sugar Bowl showed us how far we still have to go.

We will get there, and soon. I don't think this will be the last BCS Bowl Game any of our underclassmen will play in.

I think swagger is the most over and inappropriately used word in the history of words. As the post above mine states, we don't need swagger. We need to play football.

As I've seen in the past with sports teams, getting close only makes you hungrier to reach the pinnacle. And I can imagine that once our guys take a quick break to get football out of their systems for a week or so, their desire to work hard to get to where we need to be will be insatiable. As has been stated, kids have a short memory. Likewise, at my job, if I work on a project for 3 months and my boss shuts it down when I present it, that's a loss. It sucks that the 3 months of work seems to be a waste, but I don't stop working. If anything, it makes me work harder (and smarter) on the next project. I think our guys will respond similarly.

I wasn't among the 92,000 at Saban's first A-Day game. I wasn't among the estimated 70K at last year's A-Day game. But rest assured I'll be at this one front and center. I want to see these guys

Didn't we just have one of these swagger threads a few weeks ago?

I couldn't care less if my favorite team has a swagger. I want them to win. I want them to dominate and instill fear and loathing into their opponents. If some swagger goes along with that, so be it, but swagger means absolutely nothing. It's all about the process and how it translates into wins on the gridiron. I hope this offseason's 4th quarter program beats any swagger they may currently have left right out of their psyches and into the ground, then builds them into champions from the ground up.

Swagger in one of the things that got us beat by Utah!

I know I'm going to be there, and I can't wait! :)

I concur with you Savannah. I'm a big pro football fan and my favorite team is the 49ers. Mike Singletary, when speaking on choosing a new offensive coordinator after firing Mike Martz said he wanted a different style of OC because "I want to be able to impose my will on defenses." When I read that, I thought that's EXACTLY what I want at Alabama. We did a great job of it for the most part this season, but we did it with inconsisency when we ran up against teams that had strong fronts (Ole Miss, LSU, and Ms. St.). If we're able to impose our will on our opponents, then surely some degree of confidence will come with that. So I'd like to use supreme confidence in the stead of "swagger".

Trust me, Sir. I know exactly what it is. I was just saying that that word (as well as the phrase "It is what it is") have been the 2 most overused sayings in the past couple of years.
