But that didn't help Derek Dooley or early Will Muschamp. IMO, Fisher is one of the most overrated coaches in the country and the jury is out on JM. I.e., it certainly helps having been part of a great system and learned from a great coach, but it is proven time and again that it's not as much the system as the man who runs the system. Coach Saban has a set of attributes that no one else has and it's doubtful that KS can match him. He may do a great job at UGA. He has some circumstantial advantages over CNS - recruiting base, more talent to start with, very weak East - but though the early returns look good, the jury is still out.
Maybe Kirby just has more of what it takes to be a great coach. But one the one difference with Kirby and all the rest is the amount of time he spent with CNS. 11 seasons in all, IIRC, gives a much better perspective. I think this will help him more in the maintenance of a program. But we'll have to wait and see.
