The talking heads and the announcers at the end of the game said Alabama is your new number 1

I think its the correct ranking at this time.

And it does not matter anyway. Not even a little bit. It will make Saturday's game a ratings crusher, but in the grand scheme, in-season rankings are useless. What matters is your seed and bracket placement in March.

Auburn has a stronger resume.
Yes, much stronger.

AU lost to AP @3, 3. They beat number 5, @6, 7, 10, 14, @19, 21, 22. 4-2 vs top 10, 8-2 vs ranked teams. Very impressive.

Ala lost @7, 19, N unranked Or. They beat N 6, @8, @15, @22, 24. 2-1 vs top 10, 5-2 vs ranked teams. Impressive.

Doesn’t mean that Alabama is not the better team at this time but AU’s resume is better.

The barn has a stronger record. Plus, never mind the loss, I think they’re the best team in the country (dang, that hurt my fingers).

As others have stated, today’s ranking is irrelevant.

With the gantlet that the last eight games pose for us, I‘ll be ecstatic with only two losses. I’ll be happy with three. Four would be slightly disappointing, but realistically possible.

Their resume isn’t that much stronger. Some of it is based on where some teams are in the Net. For example, UNC and Memphis. Both are Q1 wins for Auburn. Which means on a neutral court is a win over Top 50.

UNC and Memphis are 45 and 46 respectively

the State win is also a Q1. Win at home vs Top
30. They are 29.

Many have UNC and Memphis above 50 in power rankings. Instead of them being 12-3 in Q1 they could be 9-2 quite easily.

On the flip Creighton is 31/32 in the net. That gets to 30 and Bama is 8-3 in Q1. And Texas will be a Q1 win if they win. So that’s 9-3

So, it’s not as wide as people are acting.

I kinda like it. As stated, doesn't really matter but it might give us a little "attitude" advantage. But, assuming we both get through our midweek assignements, it'll get settled (temporarily) on Sat.

it is now

We have at least 2 more L's coming most likely. They have 2 max probably with their road games at uk and tam

Uf could tie them if they don't lose anymore games
