If this year ends in a dud, more likely that coordinator and staff changes will be made for next year.
And there will be plenty of talent left.
The young WRs will grow up some, could be a great group next year.
Milroe/Simpson, neither one will likely be Bryce Young level, but they have their own skills.

Why would you expect the WRs to be great? What have you seen this year to indicate that?
We still have stacked talent at almost every position...the 4/5 stars ...that talent just has to be taught better and show the desire to be the best. I think we see changes in staff in the off season. The past 2 seasons havent been Bama football and yet we still lost in the final last year and are still in it this year, most teams would take that.
As long as CNS is around there will be other players like them. What's more concerning is we are not out-scheming teams anymore.
Better players and a better scheme usually lead to easy, resounding wins. Instead, we are on the struggle bus lately.
We've got great players our coaches make look good. Their players are good, but UT coaches make them look great! Right now, this is the season's reality for us.
You’re focusing on the wrong thing. There is talent sitting on the bench that would start anywhere else.
Whether that talent will be properly developed and molded into strong willed leaders remains to be seen.

The game against aTm is what I see in store for Alabama next year unless Ty gets some playing time this year. You cannot win championships anymore without great QB play. It starts there. As for the rest of the team - every other team at the top this year will lose as much or more than Alabama.
But Alabama will have a new OC and maybe a new DC next year. You will also lose some position coaches. So, whole new group of team leaders with a huge staff turnover - could be the season that breaks Alabama's streak with a #1 ranking.

Bonds, Earle, Prentice, Brooks...very young but loaded with talent.
I guess they are supposed to get worse with more experience?
To me the three areas of major concern are:
1. Bad penalties at the worst possible time

We return, Dallas Turner and some young edge guys, Kool-Aid, Lawson at LB, Oatis at DT, plus have an incredible secondary recruiting class coming in with probably at least 1-2 guys who will start right away.
On offense Ty or Milroe should be ready. Latham and Booker are arguably our most talented OL guys and they're back. Plus our freshman WRs who seem really promising come back and Niblack who I think will be very good

We still are Alabama and have Saban. Gibbs was playing in Georgia last year for Georgia Tech. The year before we snatched up Williams from Ohio State and few others. The transfer portal is a quick way to fill holes with talented players that are not getting the time they want at other schools or in Gibbs case a better team. I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t grab another running back in portal while the incoming guys grow. You might also see a quarterback that thinks he can beat out Milroe for starting job. The new transfer portal has changed everything imo.
I will be stunned if Saban brings in a QB through the portal. That ain't happening

They do every year, but you have to be willing to burn down your entire QB room to go get one.

I think it depends who gets in portal. I think Hudson Card will go in the portal with Ewers at Texas already and Manning coming he will most likely get pushed out. Saban and his connection to Sark could lead him towards us.
For the right player I'd do it and I think Saban would to. But it would really have to be the right player.
I’m not worried about the personnel, as long as Saban is there that part will be fine. If Golding is allowed to hang around then there’s not going to be a change. BOB is doing fine imo. He’s moving the ball, racking up points and yards. The defense has been the problem for years now. When they face good offenses they simply can’t even slow them down.
Golding gets schooled when they face these offenses and it’s time for him to move on. What Tennessee was allowed to do yesterday is unacceptable. Our scheme never changed and adjustments were not made. UT had no issue getting the WR/Safety matchup they wanted when they wanted. At the very least let’s bring heavy pressure to hit Hooker a bit to try to knock him off his rhythm. If we’re going to get burned let’s at least make some contact.
Without Young, this is a 3-4 loss team last year and this year. That guy is just on another level and yesterday was probably the best single game performance I’ve seen from a Tide QB. So props to him…
