How ugly will it get in 2023?

I’m not worried about the personnel, as long as Saban is there that part will be fine. If Golding is allowed to hang around then there’s not going to be a change. BOB is doing fine imo. He’s moving the ball, racking up points and yards. The defense has been the problem for years now. When they face good offenses they simply can’t even slow them down.

Golding gets schooled when they face these offenses and it’s time for him to move on. What Tennessee was allowed to do yesterday is unacceptable. Our scheme never changed and adjustments were not made. UT had no issue getting the WR/Safety matchup they wanted when they wanted. At the very least let’s bring heavy pressure to hit Hooker a bit to try to knock him off his rhythm. If we’re going to get burned let’s at least make some contact.

Without Young, this is a 3-4 loss team last year and this year. That guy is just on another level and yesterday was probably the best single game performance I’ve seen from a Tide QB. So props to him…
And it make me sick that we wasted that performance with a lack of player discipline and bad coaching.

No Bryce, no Gibbs, no Anderson.

Dark days ahead.

What reasons are there to be hopeful?
Our secondary will be gutted as well. Unless we make 2 home run coordinator hires, we are looking at multiple losses, and yes I realize neither coordinator position is even open right now but they better be in the off-season. Saban just needs to tell Golding “Sorry man, it just ain’t ever gonna work aight”

BOB will be back to the NFL where he belongs and good riddance. We will have to hit the portal HARD. Luckily we have that luxury.

I don't visit the board much. I needed to be uplifted today, and you guys are killing me :)
Best QB in the country but we seem to be missing that "dog" thing the coach talks about. Look I get it the other team is trying too. 15 years is a LONG time to beat a team like TN. I sure wish it was 16. Everything is in front of us, I don't think we get it done but I am a fat old man who sits on a couch cheering his behind off so what do I know? RDT to each of you!

You came to this board the day after the worst defensive performance in Saban’s tenure to a school that literally tried to destroy our program, and you expected us to lift you up?!?

Man, I need some of that optimism. Roll Tide I guess

Might not be good. Hopefully someone grabs Bob but if not he'll be back. Defensively Golding has to go. But I don't see coach letting him go. He has something he really likes about him that most don't see. Wasting so much talent. We'll win 10 but no championship of things stay the same.

Hopefully Bob goes to Nebraska and takes Pete with him

But I don’t think it will be doom and gloom……. We have some great recruits coming and with two different coordinators( please Lord!) Bama will be right in the middle of it

Golding must be Saban’s long lost son or something. Nothing else explains his loyalty toward Golding.

Yeah well, Saban’s loyalty toward Hurts almost cost us a title in 2017. It may end up being his downfall. Feels bad man
Many Oklahoma fans point to Jalen coming to The Sooners as proof that Saban should have left him in that game, but you are correct and I think even Jalen recognized it……..without Tua Bama loses that game

2018-present Jalen is a million times better than 2016-2017 Jalen. He has improved dramatically and quite frankly I am shocked how well he’s doing in the NFL.

We still are Alabama and have Saban. Gibbs was playing in Georgia last year for Georgia Tech. The year before we snatched up Williams from Ohio State and few others. The transfer portal is a quick way to fill holes with talented players that are not getting the time they want at other schools or in Gibbs case a better team. I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t grab another running back in portal while the incoming guys grow. You might also see a quarterback that thinks he can beat out Milroe for starting job. The new transfer portal has changed everything imo.

The game against aTm is what I see in store for Alabama next year unless Ty gets some playing time this year. You cannot win championships anymore without great QB play. It starts there. As for the rest of the team - every other team at the top this year will lose as much or more than Alabama.

But Alabama will have a new OC and maybe a new DC next year. You will also lose some position coaches. So, whole new group of team leaders with a huge staff turnover - could be the season that breaks Alabama's streak with a #1 ranking.
Tom Herman as OC and Jeremy Pruitt as DC. I simply do not care about any perceived baggage with either coach. Also I’ll be shocked if Milroe is on the team next year.

At this point I'll be pleasantly surprised if we have new coordinators next season. Even one new coordinator would be great, but Saban appears to have become loyal to a fault.
