In fairness to Richt, it was several of his senior players that came to him and requested to wear the black jerseys, at least that's what I understood.

He is a players coach and seems to go with the flow. He seems to be a real likeable guy

The bloom is off the Mark Richt rose. Get real, people. Ultimately, it is the head coach's responsibility and decision to say what uni's his team wears, not the players. Couple this with the stunt he pulled in the cocktail party last season, and I think he's lost A LOT of credibility.

I didn't say anything was 'wrong' with it, I called it a stunt. It was trying to take something not relevant to the field of play and somehow make it a factor in the game.

The black jerseys are a gimmick, but they're fun and harmless. I don't see anything disrespectful about them. If anything, they show respect to the opponent by highlighting the "big game" status of the opponent.

It's a neat, creative idea that the fans have fun with and gets the crowd into the game. Remember, all traditions were new at one point.

I don't get where all the hate for Richt is coming from. I listened to the UGA postgame show on XM and he was a very gracious loser.
