Me too. It would have been very fitting...I know this is a off season statement....BUT I was hoping that we would come out with the white helmets tonight
In fairness to Richt, it was several of his senior players that came to him and requested to wear the black jerseys, at least that's what I understood. It was a stupid stunt by Mark Richt, in my opinion. I think a lot of people have lost respect for him.
He is a players coach and seems to go with the flow. He seems to be a real likeable guyIt was a stupid stunt by Mark Richt, in my opinion. I think a lot of people have lost respect for him.

I agree... Richt is letting his players run the team. I thought Richt was real cocky this week too. I'm glad we waxed his...The bloom is off the Mark Richt rose. Get real, people. Ultimately, it is the head coach's responsibility and decision to say what uni's his team wears, not the players. Couple this with the stunt he pulled in the cocktail party last season, and I think he's lost A LOT of credibility.
I agree, and D-man what reason would he have to deny that request from his players? :conf2:Nothing wrong with them putting on the black jerseys for this game. It was huge and they realized it. The psychological edge they were hoping just didn't happen. We were better tonight.
I didn't say anything was 'wrong' with it, I called it a stunt. It was trying to take something not relevant to the field of play and somehow make it a factor in the game.I agree, and D-man what reason would he have to deny that request from his players? :conf2:
Well that sounds a lot better (and different) from your last post.I didn't say anything was 'wrong' with it, I called it a stunt. It was trying to take something not relevant to the field of play and somehow make it a factor in the game.
Try selling a blackout jersey game at BDS and see how neat and creative our fans think it is :biggrin:Lighten up, guys.
The black jerseys are a gimmick, but they're fun and harmless. I don't see anything disrespectful about them. If anything, they show respect to the opponent by highlighting the "big game" status of the opponent.
It's a neat, creative idea that the fans have fun with and gets the crowd into the game. Remember, all traditions were new at one point.
I don't get where all the hate for Richt is coming from. I listened to the UGA postgame show on XM and he was a very gracious loser.
