Slightly OT, but one thing I noticed at A-Day while standing at the front of the stadium (near the statues). One of the supports under the expansion on that side of the stadium has moved out of position slightly. You can see it from the ground.

Doesn't look dangerous or anything, but I think Mal Moore needs to have it investigated and corrected.

I'm guessing (and hoping) that it had something to do with the angle you were looking at it from or the way the sun was shining on it. I have a hard time believing that any of those supports have been moved or are out of place - especially since A-Day was before the tornado.

The Georgia Dome would be the logical substitute. Only it doesn't hold as many as BDS. Would have to schedule games around GA Tech and The Falcons but it could be done and they'd welcome our sellout crowds. CNS would find some way to use it as a recruiting tool. Maybe spread it around and do a few games in the Super Dome, Joe Robbie Stadium, Orlando and Jerry World as well. Nashville would also be good, but we don't recruit a lot in that area.

Georgia Tech doesn't play games there, although it did hold my son's graduation there on Sunday (shameless plug!).

With the big demand & limited seating at Ladd Pebbles..Imagine how much a ticket would go for a Bama Game..I too think we would make arrangement for the Georgia Dome..For the simple reason of recruiting ..Coach Saban would make something good from a awful situation..

It would have to take a direct hit from an F-5 to sustain possible structural damage. And even then it would be slight. What you would be looking at is replacing the seats which would have been ripped out and the suites.

I would be extremely upset if we let the revenue from one Alabama home game, much less 6-7, leave the state. It would be asinine.

If the stadium was heavily damaged, my guess would be Legion field or games throughout the state (B'ham, Huntsville, Mobile, etc.). If just the uppers were structurally unsound, I could see us still playing in BDS with big screens set up in front of the stadium and Quad for the rest of the fans.

Not to mention the upper decks, depending on the direction the cyclone is coming and how it leaves. I can't even imagine something like that, but who would have thought Tuscaloosa would ever be hit with a tornado like the ones on 4/27.

I should have taken a picture while I was there. It was easily seen from the ground while standing near the statues, and was definitely out of place as compared to the other supports. Like I said, it didn't look dangerous, but it was obviously not correct and had moved.

Not trying to argue but after seeing the video from 4/27, anything can happen. There is not a structure that is 100% safe in a storm like those of 4/27. I never thought I would see a whole town wiped off the face of the map but I did right after 4/27 here in North MS.

A 20' steel beam flying 180 mph would do some serious structural damage to any building if it hit the right spot. We had one go through our living room from that same tornado. It's not the tornado that does the damage...it's the stuff the tornado is carrying that causes the destruction.
