I am assuming CNS has not seen the improved stadium, athletic facilities and academic center. Do you think that would have any bearing on his decision at this point?

From what I am seeing and hearing from suspect media reports, it is a matter of him accepting the terms of the contract or rejecting the offer altogether and staying with the Fins.

Is it that simple?

In Mal's defense, CRR had already said "yes," and his attorney was in T-Town, negotiating the contract. What CRR did was despicable. But I'm glad he did it...
I too am glad he did it when he did, instead of coming here first and then displaying the skirt he wears to the world. On the negotiation side; I wonder if CRR's agent/attorneys got their commission out of him after he made them look and feel like fools. How about it TIDE-HSV? Could they force the issue since they did everything asked of them and then he backed out?

If I remember correctly, didn't Fran get in CNS face after his last game against LSU? Yeah, that would be a hoot!
He did and I said at the time that Fraud was wrong. It was a stupid email being sent around that allegedly was a speech by Saban.

Listen up when TIDE-HSV speaks. In my experience here on TideFans, Earle doesn't use that kind of language lightly. And yes, Earle...I did catch the subtle crack on Johnson's option offense. But I also admired the way in which it was delivered.

I'm betting that the next coach is on the way to Tuscaloosa. Might be Saban. But if Saban says no, there's a Plan B, and it's someone who will make us all happy.

CRR Fees

If an attorney was involved - likely there was no % but rather an upfront nonrefundable retainer fee. A rate per hour divided into that establishing how many hours were covered by the upfront fee. However, very like ly non-refundable.

Now an agent, there is likely a commision % there.

Down here the Palm Beach Post writers seemed convinced the next target will be Petrino.

Most writers are calling for Saban to stay in Miami. Petrino and Johnson are next on the contact list according to S. Florida's Miami Hearld and Sun Sentinel. In order to save this recruiting class, Mike Telleson (Sun Times Morning Edition) said "Alabama had better hire a coach or suffer come February."

Would be nice if Saban pulled an EARs. While at Ole Siss Ears told the faithfull in Oxford that the only way he was leavig was in a pine box. Had the Rebel fans known of his lie, he might have left in a Pine Box. :BigA:

I gotta say, I'm excited about the prospect of Saban coming - he's been my #1 from day one - but my gut is more and more convinced he's staying in Miami. I don't really care about what the media or other fans say, I just want a great coach.

If he says no, I sure hope we have a solid line on #2...

It was my understanding that the attorney was acting as as an agent, and, in that role, he's paid a percentage only. However, had I been put in that position, I would have asked to be paid at least for my time.

i dont think saban is coming. last night in the miami herald there statements attributed to saban stating he is prepared to sit down with each of his players, and go over next season needs. he further states he doesnt like what has happened at miami, with losing this year, and wants to rectify that next year. does not sound like a man ready to leave. too many statements about his players, and the team approaching next year. i would hate to think he would do that much wrong info if he was contemplating leaving. it even further worries me whats next. the bar has been set. not much left.

The outside factor that many people are forgeting is Mrs. Saban. If she`s not happy in Miami and we`re making an offer of more money giving her and the kids a way out of town and CNS turns it down....ouch. As the saying goes...When mama`s not happy, nobody`s happy. It would be tough to be in Saban`s shoes having to explain, or try and cut a deal with the spouse on why they are staying, especially if she wants to get out real bad.

Nick: "Honey, we`re staying in Miami."
Mrs. Saban: " You can do what you want, me and the kids are going to Dreamland."

I think these player sit-downs at season's end are routine at many NFL teams.

Hopefully, we are about to give new meaning to "exit interview."

What I find odd about that story is, He says Saban will stay, & finish the job he was hired for, but he goes about how the Dolphins are in big big trouble, Taylor might retire, Dolphins Have no QB, they have a ton of free agents, they are 20th in the league with their salary cap, & Saban you got your hands full buddy attitude.......go figure.
