If you could choose an improvement for BDS

More food choices at the concession stands. Florida, Hawaii and several other venues have great kiosk type stands with things like smoked turkey legs, crab cakes etc. Just more then a dog and nachos.
That is an excellent proposal! :biggrin2: It would be awesome to have different options. The university could contract out the spots to different business even, work out a percentage deal or something. You could have a BBQ stand, maybe even a Wings stand. I think it would improve the "gameday experience."

I would also like to see the chainlink replaced. It looks kinda cheap and out of place with the high class environment the rest of the stadium exudes.

I want to second the food choices idea and please go back to the band entering the stadium the way they used to. We have tried other things and those do not seem to be able to hold a candle to the former way.

Get a new nacho vendor, and ditch Pepsi for Coke products. The suggestion to add a greater variety of food choices is also a good one...

Hmmmm, let's see:

6) ribbon boards extended completely around stadium and used for more than advertising
I would like for them to continually run scores of other games across the nation. It seems we get the same six or so game scores the whole game. It needs to be run like a sports ticker. Get ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS Sporstline to sponsor it and have a continual running scoreboard.

I second the motion for coke products....

I'm sure the folks in the upper decks would appreciate some type of escalator system...

I would like to see the stadium frames/structural beams covered so that they are not visible from outside the stadium.

Need more fanny room in the cheap seats. The seating configuration must have been based on a 98 lb. coed's derriere.

No offense intended, but I'd trade all the ribbons and tinsel being proposed for a championship quality team running onto the field wearing crimson, and to hell with coke products, food, ribbon boards, and the like.

I agree. Most college stadiums have bleacher seating.I really prefer the chairback seating of the NFL stadiums.
Would you also like a 60,000 seat stadium?

I say take the chairs OUT of the west upper deck and replace them with bleachers. Those fans 'aint special.

I agree about the food choices, but I can tell you (I work a concession stand periodically for KofC) that the food choices in the main concession areas are built for speed. The menu is limited to help with the lines of people. Think about this: our concession stand does tens of thousands of dollars every game in revenue, and all or our profits go to charity, as do most of the proceeds from most of the concession stands in the stadium.

Putting in kiosks for other types of food would be an excellent idea, but you have to then consider the health department implications of said kiosks.

As for improvements to the stadium, I would replace all of the concourse televisions with HD plasmas or LCDs. I would also replace the jumbotrons with HD equipment and do all of the in-stadium camera work in true HD.

I would also upgrade the staduim sound system with digital sound. Serving beer woiuld be a nice addition, but that's probably out of the question.

The chain-link fence replacement is solid.

I'd like to see more food choices as well, but if that doesn't happen, then at least improve the product we're serving. I'm embarassed that we can't serve a quality HOT DOG  and the piece of weiner with something that used to be a bun wrapped around it is all we've got. It is horrible. Serve it plain and dry and let me decorate it with catsup and mustard. But not the mush bun and sauer-kraut all tightly packaged in a damp cellophane wrapper.

I also favor alternative means of getting to the east side upper deck. As I watched senior citizens puff and huff their way up the ramp especially during the summer games, it's a wonder there haven't been more ambulance calls. If not for heart attacks then for the cart drivers running down slow to get out of the way walkers.

Access to the rest of BDS from U4. What are the concession stands like in the lower sections? Any better choices?

Do away with faculty discount tickets.
And all that section of the lower level of BDS that is reserved for faculty/staff shrink and just have a sections for A-Club members and highschool players and coaches. That would open up TP tickets for people that pay good money for the tickets and boost the revenue.
