The amount of hate flowing towards Bama is ridiculous. The BCS should take the best two teams, period. A blog I found on here a couple months ago did a pretty good post about that Rick Reilly article, and I tend to agree. Basically, this guy highlights Reilly's hypocracy.

Here's the link:

I think he's on to something.

I quit wondering about it weeks ago. Nothing we can really do at this point but see the "HATE, HATE, HATE!"

There's a reason they don't want us there.

Re: I'm getting tired of the agendas

I totally agree. On Sports Center this evening, Craig James said that as he was traveling today, fans from "all over the country" do not want to see a rematch. Well he did not traveled to North Carolina because ever since our loss to LSU, my ACC fans have told me, "BAMA and LSU are the two best teams in the country and it's not even close." I have not had one knowledgeable football fan tell me that anyone else is better.

This is what happens when you give one network complete charge over this mess called the BCS. They're trying to manipulate the system (i.e. voters) to get a more "exciting" matchup - i.e. a high-scoring game. If the BAMA-LSU game had been a 48-45 score everyone at the worldwide leader would be begging for a rematch.

I'll be so glad when they come up with some sort of a "plus one" system or a playoff system involving the top 4 bowl games. It's time we took the bias and agendas of deciding who the two best teams are and let it play out on the field.

If you want to read a couple of articles that will make you mad, read the following links.

http://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/id/7302138/rick-reilly-no-rematch-bcs-title-game

Let's hope and pray that cooler heads will prevail and that voters will do their job - make sure that the TWO BEST TEAMS play for the national title - not the two teams that they want to see play.

If you think the hate is bad now, wait til (still IF, I know) we get into the NCG and win it. You'll see a whole new kind of hate directed at us.

I think it will invoke drastic change-maybe not the death of the BCS but may be the catalyst to bring about a plus one or something like that. A plus one would be beneficial to ending the discussion.

Well, if Bama was in Oklahoma State's place I imagine there'd be 5 million threads on why they don't deserve it. And SEC fans would come out in force on other boards. It's the way it is

This is correct. We lost on 11/5 and this is what we have to endure. Next time, leave no doubt.

Re: I'm getting tired of the agendas

I agree, but it's still crazy how much these folks (mostly not the CFB analysts) are hating on a rematch. MSU-Wisc is a rematch. VaTech-Clemson is a rematch. I was just watching Sportscenter and when the anchor asked Herbstreit to make a case for someone other than Alabama-LSU, and he just laughed and looked around. My only solace is that the people voting are closer to Herbie than the random onlookers. Anyway, when I checked that link to read it again at lunch today, I saw they had a new one up.

Love this article. It encapsulates what we all know about the SEC style vs. other conferences.

The reason there are those that don't want a rematch is that IT GUARANTEES AN SEC CHAMPION.
With only one SEC team playing there would be a chance of someone other than an SEC team winning
it all !!! (small chance though):biggrin::biggrin:

Anyone notice that when the Oregon/LSU had potential to finish #1 & 2, those pundits didn't seem to mind the possibility of THAT rematch?

Re: I'm getting tired of the agendas

I don't put myself through the torture of hearing what others are saying. I knew the arguments and hate would come so I don't tune in. We can only wait and pull for our team. What will be, will be, none of the chatter matters.

I'd still say no chance. Seriously. The last five years, Oregon is the only team that has even been competitive in the National Title with the SEC team, and that's largely because Auburn wasn't that good. :BigA:
