Sunday March 4...............

Illinois State trying to knock a bubble team out in just a few minutes...............

ISU vs Creighton - Creighton in OT , whew
Fairfield vs Iona - Fairfield by 10
Siena
vs Loyola - Loyola by 10
Purdue @ Indiana - IU by 9
Arkansas State vs Middle Tenn State
Oakland
vs So Utah - So Utah by 2
Elon vs Davidson - Davidson by 16
NC State @ Va Tech - NCSU by 12
George Mason vs VCU - VCU by 10
Arizona @ Arizona State - ASU by 7
Virginia @ Maryland - UVA in OT
Iona losing may mean that Metro Ath. gets 2 bids now. Yahoo projection has them out, but Iona is 25-7 with RPI in the low 40s, a SOS of 144. Fairfield or Loyola is in, Iona may steal a bid.

Both VCU and Drexel may get in as well.

A loss to SC and Bama will probably be sweating it out

Iona SOS is 144 according to the Nitty Gritty, VCU SOS 174 and Drexal SOS 225. Don't see them making it.

Lots of rumblings about this being a Mid-Major Tourney. I wish Iona had won their bid to make it a definite one bid league, but wih the rpi Iona has I see them quite possibly getting in. There will be a push from certain sectors to include them, and they have the Machado and MoMo Jones factor going for them.

The guy on the Brando show was just pushing for VCU and Drexel both to get a bid.

It happens every year. We aren't on the "bubble" to even worry for my part. If I was NC State or an Arizona I would worry.

Last Year at this time we had an RPI of the mid - 60's and SOS of 92. Big difference in our position this year and last year.

Lots of confidence here.

For my part, I would rather see all mid-major tourneys have no upsets. There are a still a whole lot of variables in my opinion.

What if Bama does not beat SCe?? What if State makes a run and beats Vandy, and UT wins to the Final, or the whole thing?

When the Committee sits down, Bama will not fare well in the "Eye Test" when they think about our offense. After last year, I will not feel comfortable till we win Thursday, and then hopefully show up well or hopefully beat Florida.

The only two teams to beat UT in their last dozen games are UK and Bama -- we split with MSU -- have better NC wins than either of them..... we can't drop behind 16 teams by losing one game......we might get a 6th team, but they won't replace us with UT or MSU

We are at the end of the season -- games played now have less and less impact on the final RPI -- the games are on neutral sites so the losses aren't as damaging -- we will be between a 7 and a 10 seed -- depending on the SEC Tournament. Win the SEC, we might go as high as 6.....but if we lose we are a 10, if we win one we are an 8 or 9, we win 2 we are a 7.....

State beat West Virginia and Arizona, Vandy, lost a close 2 point game to Baylor.
Pretty even to me. I agree on Tennessee non-conference wins, but in SEC play they have beaten Florida twice, Vandy, and the UConn win. They also have won 9 of their last 11.

This is true but the thing is we are not in a competition with Miss State or UT for the final slot in the NCAA tourney. The SEC is going to get 5 teams in and may get six if Miss State and UT do well in the SEC tourney. The point, as someone else pointed out, is that for us to fall out of the NCAA tourney we would have to fall behind nearly 10 teams that we are ahead of right now. The bubble is super soft this year, at this point the SEC tourney can only help or hurt our seeding in the tournament in my opinion.

Here is ESPN's bubble watch which will be updated daily this week:

Not sure what USC or UCLA can do to impact Bama.....or Utah or Colorado.....is it an opponent of opponent thing?
UCLA getting some run as a potential tourney winner, and I think Colorado has a chance as well. Would rather see these 2 knocked out early.

I want to make sure Bama is in, and I want them to stay out of that 8-9 game
