I believe Ingram wins it. He just scored a record 3 rushing TDs against the #1 defense in the NCAA. There were only 3 tds allowed on the ground all yearby Florida. His rushing stats have come against better defenses in the nation. Virginia Tech, LSU, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Florida, Miss St.
This award is about the best player in the country and his contribution to his team against the best players in the nation. All you need to do is look at the best defenses in the nation to see what it takes to compete at the level Mark Ingram has for 13 games thus far. Ingram has consistantly ran against better team defenses and performed well against the ranked the # 1, 8, 12, 13, 28 ,29 and 38 defensive units in the nation currently. These defensive rankings change weekly, but that was the ranking last week. How can you not give it Ingram.....ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!!!
good stuff

I am curious to see how much the final weekend will impact the Heisman results. For most of the media that commented today, it seemed as though the pre-weekend rankings were Colt McCoy, Tebow, Gerhart, Ingram, Spiller, and Suh (Probably a very long shot). Colt and Tebow lost it today plain and simple and, IMO, have 0% chance of winning now. Ingram had an great performance against the #1 D in the nation. While Gerhart, Spiller, and Suh ALL had impressive performances, each ended the season on a "downer." Gerhart had a great game vs ND, but then had a week off when the entire nation is looking for a clutch performance. In this case, I do not think adsense will make the heart grow fonder. Spiller is spectacular, but had some MIA performances this year and his team has dropped several games (Including today). Suh wrapped up his Top 5 draft status, but he was never really a serious candidate until this stops being a popularity/flash contest.

I would predict:
#1 Ingram
#2 Gerhart
#3 McCoy
#4 Spiller
#5 Suh
#6 Tebow

I have been really impressed with Ingram's yards after contact. This is the first year, I have seen that stat. But his numbers seem really high.

Also, I love the way Ingram, Upchurch, Richardson (and Coffee last year) know how to get the ball in the end zone.

I think Ingram should win it. He does so much after first contact it's unreal. I think if Gerhard played on a consistantly beter team he would be stronger in the running as well. If Colt gets it it's outright rigged.

ESPN ask four different people who should win the Heisman:

Mark May said Mark Ingram because of what he did in the SEC Champ Game.

Todd McShay said Toby Gerhart, cause without Toby Stanford is like a "4 win team".

Lou Holtz and Robert Smith both said Colt McCoy, and the reasoning completely lost me. Both implied McCoy should win based on his career. Not what they actually said, but it was implied.

In the biggest game of the season, to date, McCoy nearly chocked the game away with his game, and his clock management late was crap. If it wasn't for Neb gifting them a out of bounds penalty, and the kicker, Texas would have lost. Does that sound like a Heisman hopeful? Not to mention people were willing to write off Ingram after the Auburn game, but give McCoy a pass for the Nebraska game? Please.

Good point. And compare that with the pass defensive rankings of the teams Texas has played. Oklahoma is the highest at #22. But McCoy didn't play well in that game. I think Colorado is the highest ranked pass defense that he has played well against. I know stats aren't everything, but they count for something. And I think these stats count heavily in favor of Ingram over McCoy for Heisman.
