Is Fanuzzi redshirting?

What year is Fanuzzi? I know its his first year on campus, but has he played yet?

I saw another post that said something about his redshirt being off....

Just curious...
 
I believe the coaching staff knew they were going to get Star Jackson...who committed the Monday after the first game I think...so they decided to play Fanuzzi knowing his extra year of eligibility wouldn't be critical. I hope he does get a chance to have an impact on the team though.
 
he is a true freshman. and i'm pretty sure he can still redshirt despite playing a series or two.

i seem to remember terry grant playing in a few series last year and he was still able to get his redshirt.

so esportsweekly, what kind of reporter are you? a throwback with professionalism and integrity or are you one of these POS muckracking, trouble makers that make up the majority of your profession?

I wouldn't think that this would come into play regarding the decision to play Fanuzzi early. I don't have any inside knowledge, but I'd think there are too many other factors to take into consideration before being concerned over a player who hasn't made it to campus yet.

That's a bit of a stretch considering he has yet to sign a letter of intent (February) nor has he qualified (I don't know anything about his academic status, but whatever it is a lot can happen between now and next August).

I'm not a reporter. esportsweekly is a business I started that provided weekly newsletters reporting on high school sports with features, videos, etc... I sold the business to a group in Texas who have since made it a sports pictures business...

I just haven't changed my username...

Big difference between a normal redshirt and a medical redshirt. Those of the normal variety are unavailable to players who play one second in NCAA football. The Medical Redshirt is given to players who receive a significant injury, have only played approximately 20% of their season, and can only be applied for after their senior year (NCAA grants an extra year of eligibility).

First of all, I am aware that there is a difference. The question did not specify one or the other, so I addressed both. Secondly, the percentage is 30%. And third, you are absolutely wrong about it only applying to the senior year. You only need to look as far as Terry Grant for that. And by the way, the 30% rule is administered by the conferences, not the NCAA and has nothing to do with an additional year of eligibility. That is a completely different rule.
 
I'm sure there was a good reason to burn NF's shirt in the first game, but for the life of me i can't figure out what it is. I'm sure CNS has or had a plan, and maybe the poor performance of the offense thus far has prevented NF from playing more. Who knows.

If Barnes hadn't quit there would have been an option. Makes you appreciate guys like keith brown and prince hall.
