It seems that very few times do they get it right. All the way back to Gino Torretta. I think Tim Tebow showed last night who should have won the Heisman, the powers that be give it not necessarily to the best player in the nation, they just did not want to give it to the same player two years in a row.

Not trying to be disagreeable but IMO you will find most on here do not care about the Heisman Trophy. IMO for what it is worth, Percy Harvin is the best football player in the country.

IMO, it's flawed because it's touted as the best player, but it's actually the best offensive skill player.

They give it too early. Should wait until the season is complete and all the bowl games have ended.

Since the season ending poll is after the bowl games they should award all individual awards after the season ends. Outland, Rimmington, Walker, Heisman, etc.

"Presentation" ? No . Voting process ? I'm thinking more value could be given to 1st place votes . JMO :)
I agree. The result this year, considering the actual votes, was ridiculous.

Yep . The reason I feel this way is because of what never gets reported when it comes to the 3rd place votes . I worked with a guy who for years gave his 3rd place vote to a barner . One year he voted their snapper :p_eek: 3rd . Not joking .

How many voters from the B12 region voted Bradford & McCoy in their top 2 yet left TT off of their ballots because of some lame tradition as the one I cited above .

They left him off because they didn't want him to win.

I agree that's probably the case with some but , my point is that many voters do not take 3rd place as seriously on their ballot as they do 1 & 2 . If more value were given to 1st place votes , it would offset the effect some voters cause with joke or sentimental votes they place 3rd .

I still stand by Colt McCoy.

Of course the Heisman Trophy presentation is flawed. So long as ESPN still holds the purse strings of all things college football related, it will be.
