Is it just me or did Miles' seat just get a little warm.....

I think he's a good coach- but it seems to be trending towards Sumlin territory IMO. I know he won a National Title (in what 07?) but how much leverage does that actually give you? And I'm not even going to get into how lucky and strange that title opportunity was....

I don't see how or why LSU fans would run off Les Miles. He's had the second best results next to Nick Saban in the SEC since 2007. He's not Nick Saban though, no one is...

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's that great, but not many would do better and a lot of coaches would do worse. He has a Nick Saban/Alabama problem. If he had two rings would any of us even suggest he's not competent?

If you look back at both Bama and LSU the week after we play each other, the results are not overly impressive. We both are beat up so bad we have trouble against whoever we're playing.
In short, we whip each other.
It takes more than three days to recover.
Bama and LSU are the two best teams in the conference. Circumstances, just sometimes hide that fact.

A national championship with 2 losses to boot. Leave it to ol' Lester...

I know, right? No way you could lose to 2 unranked teams and get in now- it still seems strange that it happened then really. Either way, before Saban got there, they were dealing with Dinardo and Hallman so Miles is much closer to greatness than those guys. I just find it weird that they recruit like they do and still lose 3-4 a year.

I just took a peek at Tigerdroppings and they actually have a thread proclaiming that there may indeed be a God because, evidently, the Colts are preparing to fire Chuck Pagano and make a serious push for Saban. I agree with what was being said here earlier. We completely broke LSU last weekend.

LSU underperforms for some reason. Their talent is better than anyone's...including Bama. Look at their players in the NFL....ridiculous. They just cannot get over the hump against Bama since 2011. I also agree with Sip -- LSU and Bama beat each other up...

It'd be stupid for LSU to fire Miles, but what if he gets fed up with the corndog crap and leaves on his own? Chavis left because of the relationship between Miles and the BOT, and it couldn't have come at a worse time. What if he pulls a Bielema and walks out on them?

How thankful are we right now for the Arkansas miracle against Ole Miss? not sure LSU will have it in them to beat Ole Miss.

There was also a thread from someone wanting to hire Ed Orgeron.

Its too late for Saban to go to the NFL. If he had that itch still he should've scratched it after the 2012 or 2013 season, he's at the age where most GMs/ADs start to worry about the long-term. Like I've said in other topics, he's probably only going to coach 3-4 more years and head out to the lake before his 70s.

Tell me about it. I really think this was a hangover more than anything. Fournette looked worn-out and depleted. As others have said, their QB issues are coming back to bite them in the butt.

The natives are beyond restless. Anyone no what happened in 2011 that may be causing this trend? :)

LSU will not fire Miles unless they get completely embarrassed the last two games and, even then, I would doubt it happening. Would they push him to make staff changes again and rid themselves of Steele and Cameron? Yep, probably.

Having a son that attends "the loveliest village on the bog" in Baton Rouge, the Les Miles fatigue reached a peak last year. It had been quelled somewhat given the early success this year. He told me the torches and pitchforks were out in abundance after the loss last night.

Now, given the number of openings around this year, I would not be surprised if Les or his agent dipped their toes in the water to gage the temperature. Les may decide to get out while the getting is good on his own.

And LSU better be careful what they wish for. They can do a lot worse than Les Miles.
