Go back and watch the replay. Most of them on defense were waiting for the action to come to them and not attacking.

I saw @81usaf92 touch on it somewhere else and if it’s the same thing I’ve heard there are entrenched higher ups that have personal and I mean PERSONAL grudges with Kiffin.

Those people would have to either be out of the picture or Let the issue go… which they wouldn’t.

Plus and this is jmo… Lane seems settled in at Ole Miss and honestly with the way NIL and Portal has leveled the playing field he’s got just as good of a chance of winning a one off NC there as anywhere if you get your choices right.

Plus you have to figure it’s going to hurt us bad financially to get rid of DeBose and we aren’t going to be able to pay well for the next hire for a while.

The man deserves 3 years unless the wheels come totally off. Who is better? Not Deon Sanders, and hiring some coordinator doesn't sound very inviting. CKD was successful at 2 other places so he can't be that inept. Maybe the wheels aren't coming off yet, but we do have a flat tire. Must be fixed fast.

For the record, 12-6 isn't really that successful and I can name plenty of coaches who are similarly accomplished at that level of competition.

As far as Washington, I decided to go check what Washington fans were saying about him and most were of the opinion that his success at Washington was more attributable to Penix and company than DeBoer. They seem to actually like Grubb more than DeBoer.

My take on it was it just looked a bit better than it was. A lot of close wins, a really horrible loss in 2022, not the kind of domination you'd hope for and even Washington fans pointed that out because despite tons of NFL talent on offense they had plenty of close calls to clearly inferior teams.

I'm not saying he's a bad coach mind you, but this was obviously a case of recency bias. He has one great season at the FBS level and cashes in, just so happens he did that with a six year senior QB and a bunch of Covid 6 year seniors, not something he could repeat.

My biggest concern though was just fit. He's a finesse west coast guy, it's why I had Dabo higher on my list. Not because Dabo is the best coach ever or whatever (not at the top of my list that's for sure) but at least he understands the southeast and what it takes to win there. It remains to be seen if DeBoer meets the most basic criteria of success in the SEC.

We don't agree. After last year's LANK idiocy, I am choosing to view this as Coach DeBoer's Year One. (So I reject your assertion that DeBoer is "making the same mistakes" and repeating them.)
