at 56, i just don't want to waste time hoping they decide to show up and play.
Gawd, you're old.......I won't be 56 until next month.....
Just a little light heartedness from a bad weekend and brutal thread.
You can't fire him now, period, not just economics but what coach out there in his right mind is thinking, "They sure were patient with the guy and he got a fair shake."
I "get" he's following a legend.
I "get" he's got some things to work out.
I "get" that the problem isn't that we're losing, it's the
how.
(For those who don't recall - Stallings began 0-3, but we were IN all of those games, we turned the ball over quite a bit, and we had 2-3 stars go down for the season that necessitated adjustment. Until we dumped in the bed in the Fiesta Bowl that year, we actually flipped 0-3 into 7-4, losing only a defensive struggle to Penn State).
But one of the things that hurt us badly in the wilderness years was the total lack of any continuity at head coach. If you include Kines as the interim in the bowl game, we had six head football coaches at Alabama between November 18, 2000 and January 4, 2007.
We've got to ride this year through and then someone is going to have to set some benchmarks of achievement for 2026.
