I made a comment prior to the Alabama game that Oklahoma has only lost to good teams. They are not a bad team and might very well be playing today if they were still in the Big 12.

Their losses are to:
Tennessee
Texas
South Carolina
Ole Miss
Missouri
LSU

The only one of those teams not currently ranked would be LSU and honestly it's stupid that they're not. They are 8-4, does anyone actually think Syracuse and Memphis are better teams?

Sankey pointed out...we have 14 teams with a SOS greater than all but 1 in the Top 25...and SOS is meant to matter...so why do Indiana/PSU/ND get a pass? wins...wins over poor teams...ND has 11 wins so does Army + army is a conference champion..Army lost to ND, ND lost to Northern Illinois and chooses not to be in a conference...why is ND given a #5 ranking...the whole thing is a mess

It just isn't right for a 3 loss team like Clemson (if they beat SMU) to have a bye.

The whole thing is preposterous!

There is no guarantee that they will get the bye, it could go to the ISU/ASU winner. That is still preposterous. The byes should go to the top 4 ranked teams.

As I’ve asked before, anybody else miss “ the bad old days” of the BCS and the computers picking the top 4? This whole committee process has borne out “ Be careful what you ask for “ IMHO.

Does it really matter though? People whined and complained about the BCS just like they do the committee. People are going to hate whatever system is used if there team is in the crosshairs or a team they dislike is benefiting.

Army did not lose to ND - they were destroyed by ND.

Caught about 5 minutes of gameday this morning to hear dork Pat McAffee talking about Alabama dropping out of the field if SMU loses. Coach Saban tried to get the discussion going about “who have you actually beat” vs “who you lost to.”

It occurred to me how superior the NFL system is to this joke of a committee based playoff. SEC/BIG TEN breakaway needs to happen and happen soon.

All of this is just made for tv drama. Would that the rest of the world would tune out like me.

I just noticed this but if you drop Georgia behind Bama then you have to put Ole Miss above them as well also due to H2H.

Theoretically that could happen, but still drops ga out and ole miss still not in, last in would be miami if they dropped the dogs that far. Don't believe any chance that happens, committee basically already seems to have in mind who is in playoffs and now just a matter of seeding and the aq's. Their logic is already proven to not be transitive, or the rebels would have already been ahead of the canes, and maybe usc as well.

I hate comparing.losses, but if.ducks win today and undefeated, a.three point game from boise looks great for them and keeps them ahead of big 12 winner.
Sarkisian made a great point for sec this morning, using horns last season example, anyone can get up for.one game, it's different and difficult to be up every week.

Desmond Howard piled on during CFB Live overwhelingly passionate against Alabama because of laying the egg at Oklahoma, going into Norman and only scoring 3 points. While thats true, it’s funny how people like him can’t even balance it with the top 25 wins comparisons. He was SMU IN playoffs whether they win or loose.

He’s right.

You can’t lose a game like that as your 3rd loss 7 days before the regular season ends and act like you deserve to be included.

Bama fans just want to sweep the bad losses under the rug and only discuss SOS and best wins.

I don’t necessarily think SMU should be in if they get exposed by Clemson.

Clemson honestly shouldn’t be in even if they win but those are the committees stupid criteria.

But Bama has no case.

The Committee will put them in for ratings and it is what it is.

Lanning is right about that.
