Is there anyway the Ducks can beat $Cam and the barner fambily?

Thoughts? Obviously a high scoring affair, but do the ducks have any - ANY - defense for the boogs?

It's possible but highly unlikely. Cam Newton is one of those players that can be placed in ANY type of offense and do so good that the following year will have everybody in the country running it. Not realizing that it's not the offensive scheme but simply him. He truly is that good. As I watched today the only way to stop him is to have athletes on the field as good as he is. It's amazing that we're only one season removed from Tim Tebow being anointed as potentially the greatest college football player of all time. Yet in ONE SEASON you had a lot of people, along with his stats, saying that Cam is NO DOUBT better than Tebow. That's how good this kid is. He's really that good...

I hate to say it, but the Barn will run roughshod over the Ducks. It won't even be close.

If the Ducks start flat, they will have no chance in the game. If they come out and get ahead and make the Barn play from behind, which they show they can do, that is how they can win. Their scoring quickly helps but then you just put the best Offensive Player/Heisman frontrunner (Cam) back on the field.

As much as I think most all of us here want it to happen, I just don't think Oregon is "man enough" lol to beat the Barn. They are undersized at almost every position on the field, but they do make up for some of it with their speed. I honestly just don't know if they have enough defense to get some stops. If they do and play any kind of offense like they are capable of they can win, but I will be pleasantly surprised if they can pull off the win...

I always watch for the "play of destiny" in a teams run for a championship. Last year Cody's block was what made me decide that we had what it takes. AU's touchdown before the half today was theirs. I expect Oregon to hang score for score for a quarter. Once AU's defense adjusts to Oregon's speed, it will be lights out.
I will always remember or 92 championship. No one gave us a shot. And the number 2 team in the nation usually pulls the upset. I just dont see that happening.

Size will be Oregon's disadvantage. If they can get hot and stay hot on both sides then I think they're good to go. I think Auburn has the potential to wear Oregon down. We've seen what happens when Oregon is forced to play a full game and give 100% effort. They get tired.

I think that's the difference with a lot of schools against the SEC. A lot of times our best teams play knock-down, drag-out ball. We as a conference are forced to give 100% in most of our big games.

Oregon can only hope Cam believes he is as great and wonderful as the barners keep telling him he is. If that happens they have a chance. So far Cam seems to feast on praise, so I don't see it happening. On paper it appeared Bama should score every time they had to ball vs. Duke. They aumost did. The same holds true for Aubie. They should score every time they have the ball.

I'll go out on a limb and say yes Oregon can win. I haven't done an in depth analysis of the 2 teams, but I think the speed of the ducks and the misdirection zone-read offense can put up the points to hang with Auburn. The only question is if they can come up with the stops they need. The Oregon defense looks pretty good against the run, so I think they can do enough to win. At least, I hope so...

Sigh. Of course Oregon can win. I see lot of SEC homerism here, alot of disrespect for Oregon, probably because they are a "soft" PAC-10 team.

Doesn't mean they will win, Auburn easily could. But Oregon is has an offense that is just as good as Auburn's if not better (almost 3 more points per game). It will come down to who gets the lucky breaks like turnovers, a special teams play etc...

I hope they can win. One month of prep for both teams will decide this. The speed of Oregon's offense (not player speed, but how quickly they run plays) is a big advantage for them. We know the barn doesn't have great depth on D and I think Oregon can tire them out with that quick tempo. I think we'll see barn players "injured" just to slow down that offense. It'll be a very high scoring affair.

Oregon doesn't have the quality of depth to hold up against Auburn's offensive line or Cam Newton. Also, don't be surprised if Auburn's defensive line just utterly destroys Oregon's OL.

Just the way I see it. If the Ducks' OL can hold up against Fairley & Co., they might have a chance. But if not, it's gonna be a long duck roast.

I don't think the "O" has what it takes to stop the barn. But I don't think the barn has what it takes to stop the "O". Whoever has the ball last and/or makes fewer turnovers will win this game. Interesting that neither team is in the top 50 for turnover margin. Both tied at #51 with +.15/gm.

I would be perfectly happy for Oregon to beat the tar out of the barn, but considering their biggest defensive lineman weighs like 260, I just don't see it happening. Auburn's D has gotten better as the season has progressed and, although they still have weaknesses, I think their D will find a way to keep them in it. Oregon's D will have nothing for Auburn. It'll likely be very high scoring; something like 50+ - 30+, Auburn winning.
