Okay so I always wear a red shirt when we are the home team and white when we are away. Today I needed to do laundry and so I started the game off with a red shirt on and then it hit me on that last drive of the game when my clean clothes dried what the problem was, so I quickly changed into a white Bama t-shirt and wham we drive the field kick a field goal and win.

it was mine too.....I didn't have on a Bama shirt and before the last drive, I said, we need a change of karma and put on my Bama shirt.....hey, it worked.

I even changed my avatar on here back to what it is now b/c I had changed it earlier this week.

I've got three superstitions that I didn't observe this weekend. First, I didn't fly my flags all week. Then, I didn't eat at Olive Garden on Friday night, which is a payday week staple since the beginning of the season. Finally, I didn't have on my "game-day" Bama shirt until the end of the second quarter. After putting it on, Ole Siss promptly missed one field goal and had another blocked.

I didn't wear my red Alabama t-shirt either. I've worn it for every game this season. I wore a gold Alabama poloshirt because we are so behind on laundry. :D

Me too!

it's kinda different but i spilled chili on my shirt before the game and didn't change it. Then i change and get a new one on and they miss a field goal and we block one. This was a great win just like the USM game to show we don't just give up when we are down.

I don't consider myself superstitious

But I stopped taping Bama games years ago after a couple of losses. I just can't take the risk to hurt the Tide.

My dad was very superstitious. My wife, daughter and I were returning to Atlanta after a visit to my folks in Huntsville. We were coming into Cave Springs, GA when my wife mentioned how my dad had gotten upset that we were driving home on Friday the 13th. We all started to laugh at how foolish he was when a limb fell on top of the car. It was at night and we nearly soiled ourselves.

I'm glad I recorded the game today. I took my son to a free showing of Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit at 12PM EST today. When I got back, I was able to watch the game and fast-forward through all the commercials, half-time, and deadtime between plays and finish several minutes after the game ended. I would have been three times as frustrated if I had to sit through all that deadtime!

It's partially my fault.

I didn't wear my lucky gameday shirt during the first half.

When I saw we were struggling, at halftime I dug through my closet, pulled it out, and put it on!

I won't make this mistake next week.

This has been a great post to read...feel like im in the same boat, I couldnt wear my paraphanalia cause I was on my way to my roommate's wedding (wore a red tie though) and I had to listen to it on the radio (had to for Southern Miss also) so I felt out of sync and it felt like the boys were having a tough time as well...great to see them gut it out though...even though they made some big mistakes and couldn't get some things going too well, this may have added to their resume--gave them confidence in the two-minute O...havent had to use it all season...anyway let's all get back into our superstitious modes next week...RTR

OOPS! My Bad!

This is all me, you guys. On gamedays this year, I wear my #5 jersey autograph by Zow but this time when I grabbed it out of the closet, I mistakenly saw another jersey with a #5 on it. During the game, I was in disbelief at the results of the crimson tide when my brother noticed the faux pas. I accidental pulled the #15 Freddie Milions autograph jersey which is nothing but bad luck for anybody to wear it. With cat-like reflexes, I vaulted into the closet and grab the #5 and the rest is history. It will never happenned again and I apologizes.

No, no, no... It's all my fault. At 9:00 am, I made my usual Saturday morning trip to Foodworld. I always bring one of my kids with me. This time, it was child #3. I told her to get dressed, and she came downstairs wearing dark blue shorts, a red top and white sneakers. Although aghast at the fact that MY CHILD was dressed in the opponents team colors, I also noted that this four year old dynamo had managed to coordinate pretty well, and let it be.

I didn't realize the impact of my oversight until just before Darby's breakaway TD, when I made her put on the BAMA Tee.

It'll never happen again!

I can't believe all you people are so superstitious! None of that stuff had anything to do with how that game went! Get a grip!

It was all because I wore by red and white striped Bama pullover on Thursday, and again on Saturday. The luck almost bled out of the thing before the end of the game... ;)

Seriously, though, I am having a hard time finding out how many otherwise sensible people hang on to stuff like this as much as I do. I came on here today intending to start a thread exactly like this one... And the stuff about the red and white striped shirt is true!

Well you see what I didn't tell you guys is that while I did screw up, and put on a red shirt when we are the away team, which requires wearing a white shirt, and I did change into my white shirt right as the last drive was starting. I did have my steak and eggs for breakfast, which is a must on Saturday gamedays, and since I did have the steak and eggs and I did catch the shirt thing, we were able to over come the bad game and win. Now if I had not eaten the steak and eggs and messed up on the shirt thing it would have meant certain doom.
