Hey guys. Today at school I heard news of Jacques Mclendon from Baylor School in Chattanooga how signed with Tennessee, was kicked out of school for cheating. I attend McCallie and we are huge rivals with Baylor. I'm sure he will fit in well at UcheaT. Just thought I would let you know that one of there top recruits was kicked out of his high school for cheating.

If you get kicked out of high school how do you have the required scores to get into college???

one of wvu's recruits was similarly tossed from his charlottesville (VA) area school for honor code violations and numerous "altercations" with other students. b/c it's so close to the end of the year, he's allowed to finish with on-line classes and private tutors. and guess what, his academic advisor just happens to be his HS football coach.

i guess mclendon can do the same thing.

let's not forget that allen iverson was convicted of felony assault for smashing a kid up with a table in a bowling alley, was pardoned by the governor, and subsequently graduated as valedictorian of his alternative school class (of which, by the way, he was the ONLY student!)

the ncaa on academic standards is nothing more than smoke and mirrors my friend.

Wow. Makes you wonder what in the world is going on and who does ucheat have so far up the ladder that they can't be touched. If a player @ the University of Alabama got caught with .01 extra in their bank account that they couldn't account for Bama would get the death penalty.

EdwardPatton,
Nice to see a fellow Blue Tornado on line. The honor code at both McCallie and Baylor are admirable and a true distinction for the Chattanooga area.
Hope to someday move back so our kids can attend McCallie and GPS.
I graduated McCallie in '92, and Bama in '96.
Go Blue, Roll Tide!

Hi Crimson Express-
Sure is cool seeing someone on here from McCallie. I have lived in Tuscaloosa for 16 yrs, and this summer my mom asked me if I would think about going to McCallie. I said I would think about it and next thing I knew, I was living in Macllelan dormitory. Will let you know that we have done well head-to-head against Baylor this year. Beating them in Football, Cross Country(state champs), wrestling duels(state champs), bowling(state champs), basketball so bad the first time they forfited the 2nd game due to "incliment weather", crew, soccer, and just today beat them in a very intense tennis match and a blowout baseball game. That leaves them with golf, wrestling traditional, and because of some serious recruiting, swimming. So the athletics here seem to keep the tradition, still while getting the great education we do.
Roll Tide and Go Blue

My father-in-law is a graduate of McCallie as well! Class of 54 if I remember correctly. He was a star on their football team and went on to play for Bama!

this is to epatt or cexpress, how many kids at mccallie come from areas outide of the chattanooga area? i grew up on lookout mtn. and always felt that depending on my situation, mccallie or baylor would get a good look when my kids became of age.

Baylor class of '90 here.
My father was class of '67.
My grandfather was class of '41

Go Big Red!

I do agree with you tornadoes on one thing though, excellent honor codes at both Baylor and McCallie.

This has to leave pf drooling over the possibilities! :)

McClendon has transferred to a HS in Cleveland, TN. He will
"graduate". It'll be easier to continue his cheating ways there as the classes are bigger and there is less peer pressure to do right.

Baylor used to get some of those Aramco brats, too. Still might. I had friends in the dorm from Japan and Thailand, too. Most of the day students live in Chattanooga, with a few from nearby Georgia and Alabama. The dorm students are from all over, mostly from southern states, but with the rest of the U.S. and the world also represented. The biggest difference between Baylor and McCallie is that Baylor is now coed, while McCallie is all male.

When I grew up...

in Decatur, in the 40s and 50s, a lot of really tough disciplinary problems ended up being sent to McCallie and Baylor. Marion Institute got its share also. I'm sure the situation is much different today...

We have two kids in my dorm who's fathers have something to do with Aramco. Does the last name Wood or Slattery ring a bell?

My wife knows Marti Slattery, they are currently on an out-of-Kingdom assignment in Canada. They have ahorse at our Hobby Farm. Ibeleive the father was born in Opelika.
