Remember when folks said he'd never play in the NFL because he lacked the talent?

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
I said he'd never play a down in the NFL at QB. Of course that was when JH's tendency was to drop back, look panicked, and then bail out to the right and either throw or run it out of bounds.

It's why I'm stopping short of not believing Milroe can't eventually grow into a very good QB.

But, to believe just anybody can replicate what Hurts has done is really disrespectful to his attitude, grit and determination. The odds he overcame to sign this contract are incredibly long. He's special and that's very, very unusual.

And I am absolutely no fan of “guaranteed “ contracts - anyone ever have any luck getting on of those in the private sector?
Granted, some folks get fairly well paid for jobs they do poorly (if at all), but assuming “guaranteed “ means “guaranteed” without qualifiers, the employer giving that contract takes a huge (albeit calculated) risk.
JH being the person, teammate (by all accounts) and player he obviously is, there’s just no way to say he doesn’t deserve it.
Reward for doing everything right.

I always thought he was the greatest high school quarterback ever, so good he almost made it work for multiple National Championships for Alabama. But, like Frenchy's inability to conceive of the reality of a strike zone, when Hurts got to the Do-Or-Die game, in the Majors, he came up short.

I never blamed him. We inserted him into the lineup with nothing but "do whatever you can to win the game. Our brilliant Plan A got punched in the mouth". And he did; again and again and again. He was the best offensive option on the team. I believed he loved Hero Ball; he's human. But his more and more talented team-mates were becoming more and more resentful. Soon, they stopped committing to their routes and fakes because they knew Jalen would tuck it and run it, probably for a touchdown. So what could you say?

Even though his Dad was a Coach, and I was sure he, at one time, had the ability and understanding of what it would take to read defenses well enough to win, I thought it was too late for him. He has really humbled himself and done the best he could. Extremely impressed.

I’d be remiss to not include his tremendous faith in the list of attributes that have helped him in his ascension to this point. From a personal perspective, I’m keenly aware of the amazing power found within faith, and understand how it can be a powerful ally to someone who possesses it.

Very few could replicate his success or hard work. He's an outstanding person and talent.

Can we please take a moment and appreciate the fact that a FEMALE agent just secured the biggest deal in NFL history? @AgentNicoleLynn helped @JalenHurts become the highest paid player in NFL history. BOTH have been underdogs their entire career. BOTH have been questioned time and time again. BOTH have been doubted day in and day out. BOTH have had to prove themselves over and over again. And yet, BOTH just made history and proved the haters wrong. Congrats, Nicole and Jalen!
