Does anyone know if the 2 recruits that are currently enrolled this semester (Taylor and Jackson) count against next fall's allotment or this past years recruiting allotment. I know the numbers are tight for this upcoming class and CNS is recruiting like a madman so this is a big deal. Also, I assume both these young men are on full schollys right now and are not paying their own way. Do any of the mods know the answer. Much appreciation! ROLL TIDE ROLL!

They can't against this upcoming class.

Actually, it isn't really a big deal. The limited numbers for the upcoming class are because of the 85, not the 25. So, whether they count to last year or this year probably does not matter in the grand scheme of things.

The only way it matters is if Coach Saban plans to sign a full 25 this year in anticipation of attrition. I have had several people tell me that could actually happen.

Very possible. I don't recall how many initial counters we had last year. I know we signed over 25, but I am not sure what the final numbers were. There were some prior grayshirts involved, so that class might have been full. I believe we have the option to count them towards 2006 or 2007, but I am not sure if there were any spots left for 2006.

Really doesn't matter . I think it's actually both . Unless I'm mistaken , I think they currently count towards our total of 85 and also count towards the 25 allotted for 2007 . 6 in one hand , half dozen in the other . Shell game . Used to know these things .:conf3:

He enrolled in December. That may be the kicker. Our guys didn't get in before the calendar rolled over.

Calendar year has nothing to do with it. As I said, we have the option to count them for either 2006 or 2007. The question is whether or not there are any spots left for 2006.

shall be included in the institution’s total counter limit during the academic year in
which the aid was first received.
