Los Alamitos just kicked off against Long Beach Poly at Anaheim Stadium! I subscribed to Fox networks just to see this game! Excited about watching JImmy B in the championship game. He's huge!! Will keep you posted!

Tough First Half for Barnes

Jimmy Barnes had a tough first half against Poly as Los Alamitos is down 7-0. Barnes is 9 for 20 with 1 interception. The INT was returned for a TD. The Poly defense is spectacular, especially their DBs. There is absoulutely no space for a throw. Poly has sent 13 DBs to D1 schools the last 5 years.
My observation is that he makes all throws well and likes to throw deep often. Again, he simply doesn't have time and when he does there is no place to put the ball. He actually ran for a first down on 4th and 3!
Been kinda fun to watch, as I imagine him in a Crimson jersey! I think the team he's playing against tonight will help him with the speed of the SEC.

Last report I saw was Los Alamitos (sp) behind 7-6 with about 9 min left. Barns threw a 9 yd TD but the extra point snap was bad and they missed.

Didn't get much of a chance to see the kid work. Long Beach Poly's D line was in his face all night. Numerous sacks. Final score L.B. Poly 21 Los Alamitos 6.

Game Over

Los Alimatos lost 21-6. The missed extra point took away momentum and Poly marched down the field. Barnes was intercepted 3 times tonight. It was a brutal game as he was hammered a lot. But to his credit he got up each time and tried again. If the receivers were open, he hit them! The touchdown pass was a beautiful fade pass.
Poly has a 4 star DB( Desean Jackson ) that pretty much dominated. This guy is soooooo athletic. He's being recruited by LSU, Oklahoma, Tenn and others. Barnes looks to be well prepared to face SEC competition. I just hope he gets a year or two prepare.

tough game for jimmy barnes. first time he faced a blitzing team, and they had his number. i really dont know why his dad the coach did not stay with the run more. they were getting yardage, and controlling the ball until the last 6 minutes. jimmy barnes will redshirt, he has a lot to learn about college football. he does have a good delivery, and a great attitude. not much mobility. i am really worried about next year without a qb. if brodie calls it quits, we are in big trouble. i cannot handle another year of pennington.

I watched the game. Jimmy Barnes looked good but it was probably not his best game. The Poly defense and especially the DBs were very, very good and had a lot to do with Jimmy having a bad day. The 3 interceptions were just really good plays by the defense backs and not badly thrown balls. I felt bad for Coach Barnes and Jimmy to lose their last game at Los Al together.

They will get another crack at a victory when Coach Barnes coaches the West with Jimmy at QB in the US Army All-American Bowl in January.

The announcers for the game had a lot of good things to say about Jimmy Barnes during the game. They said Los Al has had a lot of good QBs over the years and Jimmy may be the best ever. They said something like there are only two QBs that Coach Barnes coached that didn't get a scholarship to college to play football. I think Jimmy will do very well at Bama.
