When it comes to living his faith and being the best human being he could be, we’ve not had another President in my lifetime who could even come close to him.
A victim of circumstances and a couple of bad decisions doomed his Presidency; nothing will ever diminish his standing as one of the finest people of my lifetime.

I don't know much about the "faith" part, but this guy was clearly a good human being. I wish more of his ilk lived up to the standard he created. I feel like we are witnessing the death of goodness personified and I can't even put into words how sad this makes me.

I don't know much about the "faith" part, but this guy was clearly a good human being. I wish more of his ilk lived up to the standard he created. I feel like we are witnessing the death of goodness personified and I can't even put into words how sad this makes me.

He practiced what he preached - he’s taught Sunday School for 40 years.
I’m not certain, but I bet you wouldn’t find a majority of Baptist preacher, priests, rabbis or any other proclaimed “man/woman of the cloth” who could even come close to matching his philanthropy. He was in his 90s still helping build houses hor Habitat for Humanity, something he was doing for decades before the media made it a story.
He did what Christ taught Christians to do, and very few do. That’s what I meant by living his faith.

Donated most of my parents' furniture today. They turned down a few items including two sofas because of the "floral" design would mitigate interest in resale.

OK - that's fine. I will sell them on CL but have to say.....they could have taken them and placed a $50 price on them (which is what I will be doing) and IMHO....they would fly out the door. Both are in really nice condition regardless of their "floral" pattern......

They also turned down these two China hutches......said they weren't selling all that well.

Well...maybe what they were selling were not as nice as these.....dunno. But these are both very nice and will IMHO sell very easily on CL.

Continuation of donation saga.......

Today I was able to donate the two sofas and Mom's blue rocker/recliner to The Salvation Army. Felt good knowing it's going to a good cause. Mom would be pleased.

Learned some more stuff about The Salvation Army. Since they are a bible-based organization, they get no assistance from the government. They also operate a rehabilitation program for those who need help turning their lives around. Both of the men who came today went through the program...one currently still involved.

I won't go into details but will simply say there are people who go through life challenge one after another and at times they don't know where to turn. The general public (including me) has no clue.

BTW, they also turned down the two china hutches.....lol......I may just take them to one of my storage units...maybe use them at my house at some point. Absolutely zip from the CL ads I have placed.

Waiting for a re-painting estimate now. My Dad brought that little marble table back from Italy so will keep it.....

There's been some good segments on CNN tonight. Not sure most realize how much humanitarian work Carter did all over the planet after leaving office. His Nobel Peace Prize was VERY well earned!
