Saban doesn't hesitate to bring in JUCO's where there's a shortage of depth.

if carpenter turns out to be as good as our last juco he'll be a good one for sure. saban is using jucos in a good way i feel. if you go too much juco ,like jackie sherrell did it can be problematic down the road.

Two people will out of Carpenter, Preyear, Warmack, and Murphy (if he's eligible)....so, it really doesn't matter whose name we pick.

I'm curious if Carpenter ends up at Tackle or Guard. Saban likes to get his best 5 guys on the field. Him being here in the spring will give him a serious leg up on being in that 5. I just don't have a clue how it will tumble out this fall when you throw someone as massive as Fluker into the mix. If we can sign Massie it will be even harder to predict. Just about the only certainty is that Mike Johnson will be our left guard barring injury after that its anyones guess.

Is anyone sure where he will play. He has the size to play tackle, but I've heard from several places that he will play guard, which makes sense with Marlon Davis leaving.
And I'm sure Saban realizes he cannot keep bringing in JUCO players. But we just have some depth problems, and JUCO players can normally come in and compete immediately, as with Cody.
