If people don't understand that BJ is as solid as they come, I am not sure what will convince you. As some others have said, I am relieved that he's going along. It means that we'll have someone there to offset some of the OU hype.

I was actually relieved to see BJ change his visit from Miami to OU.

Agreed, the two places that you want to keep your recruits from visiting are Miami and Southern Cal.

Like was mentioned the other day, OU has a great program but it is nothing to travel half way across the country for when a recruit has his choice of any school in the country. Unless a recruit grew up a OU fan, why choose to go there over every other school?

I can see someone just not liking UA and wanting to go out of state, but then why go for OU over LSU, UF, UGA, Miami, Southern Cal or Ohio State? Those schools put WRs in the pros at a much higher rate than OU and all but Miami have superior facilities and stadiums.

If I were a 18 year old superstar, I'd go on every free trip I could go on. These guys are treated like royalty when they go on these visits. Once they sign with and enroll in a school, the royal treatment is over. They go from wining and dining to busting their butts in a weight room and tons of conditioning work. Heck, I say let em enjoy these trips. I know I would have loved to been in that position 20 years ago.

I actually feel good that Julio is visiting Oklahoma with two other 'Bama commitments. I think that is probably a positive development for us.

I think it is much better than him going up there by himself.

Even the optimistic Sooner fans think it's an uphill battle for them to land Julio. OU already has a great class of WR in this class and unless I am terribly mistaken OU's WR coach left to take the HC job at U. Houston. Julio would have very little time forming any kind of bond with the new WR coach at OU. Bob Stoops is a great closer but so is Nick Saban. I hope its -10F in Oklahoma this weekend.

we need not forget that julio is planning on being announced on espn. Sort of like the Tebow thing last year. So, i'm sure he's been told not to give any hints, doesn't make for good tv without a little mystery.

Well not to dispute Rivals but I heard Vigor HS Coach Kerry Stevenson say this morning in an interview on Tusk radio that B.J. wanted to go visit OU with his friend Julio Jones. I am paraphrasing Stevenson's remarks but he said Scott called OU and they said in response to his request, yes you can take an official to OU. He then said OU sent in some coaches to Mobile to visit him and I believe he said they told him he could start at DB for them. Stevenson then said when asked that he thinks Scott will sign with Bama.

I myself think it was just Scott wanting to take a trip with his friend JJ and not any serious interest in OU.

well i never thought BJ had any serious interest in anyone but Bama... I just think it's funny that OU didn't want him to visit with JJ..

i think they had about a 10% chance to get JJ.. now with OU dissing BJ.. i think their chances went from 10% to 0.1%...

Things change in a hurry in recruiting. In hours from this morning until this afternoon Scott's travel plans to OU were cancelled. lol

Glad to hear it. Although I would have rather had Scott along with Julio just to keep an eye on things. DT_ink:

I am not so certain about Julio coming to Bama. He has visited OU and about three occasions before and is now going to make a fourth visit. Seems as though he definitely has an interest in OU.
