They asked Coach Saban today at the press conference what his favorite moments were for each of these three juniors who decided to go pro today. So, I asked myself the same question, and it took some thinking. These guys provided highlight after highlight.

Marcel is easy: his play in the National Championship game.

Mark: My favorite moment for Mark Ingram was his Heisman speech. I'm only 21 years old, but from my short memory, it was the most passionate acceptance speech ever. I thought he represented us well. As for on the field highlights, I loved when he secured his Heisman in the SECCG vs Florida. Loved every minute of it.

Julio: My favorite Alabama player ever. We are the same age so I have been following him closely since high school. I have two favorites for Julio.
1) His TD on the screen play vs LSU last season. I haven't seen a stadium light up like that in a while! Basically his whole series of match-ups vs Patrick Peterson was a blast to watch.
2) One of his freshman year touchdowns when he dove in the back of the endzone VS UGA during "The Blackout." That is when I knew he was going to be something special.

I loved watching these three and I wish them well. I already miss them.

In a dream world
I remember Julios first year when nobody knew they were going to have to put their best guy on him and he wouldbe wide open in the back of endzones. My fav of MD was the interception return in the BCS game last year.Ingram would be the Tds verses florida.

my favorite moments: how Julio, from his first catch to his last, never showed up defensive backs but still treated them with disdain, as if he couldn't stand to be touched, much less tackled, as if the touch of a defender was somehow unholy.

My favorite single Julio moment: His first catch in the SEC Championship game three years ago. Tebow leads Florida straight down our throats. There's a feeling of dread in the pit of every Bama stomach. Then JPW rips one up the field. Julio slings himself free and he's off. He doesn't look fast, but nobody is really catching up. I have never screamed at a television set any louder.

For Julio, the LSU game winner mentioned above. I was there for that one, and it happened right in front of where I was standing (HOO-LI-OH!). I'll never forget that game. Seated right next to me was a little ole gray headed lady who kept chanting, "LSwho?, LSwho?"

For Mark, its gotta be the 09 SC game. Best single game performance i've ever seen.

Marcel, I agree. A 300 Lb stiff arm and spin move for a BCSNCG TD. How could it get any better?

Favorite moments...

Ingram: 2009 SEC title game. Three touchdowns, nearly 200 total yards. Heisman locked up.
Julio: The video of spring practice prior to his freshman year, stiff arming Rashad Johnson en route to his TD. Or, on the field, his entire performance against the Vols this past season.
Dareus: I think everyone is going to say the BCS title game.

Julio:
The screen pass against lsu '09
His performance in '08. LSU. How it seemed like it took lsu's entire defense to take him down every time!
His CLUTCH catches in '09 iron bowl on 'the drive'
Am going to miss the hooooooooo in the stadium every time he touches it. Was amazed how fast that caught on in his freshman year.

Mark
His first game and his first score against Clemson I turned to my sister and said I think I'm going to like this guy :)
The I won't be denied in the '09 USC game
His screen pass in the '09 sec champ game
Heisman speech
His first score in the BCS - happened right in front of me :)

Marcel
Easy - spin move stiff arm TOUCHDOWN!

Hard to narrow it down...all three had so many great moments:

Marcel--Hitting Colt (because we all know Colt was about to carve up our D:rolleyes:), then the stiff-arm on Garrett Gilbert for the TD.

Julio--The screen against LSU in 2009, the TD catch against UGA in 2008

Mark--The 60 something yard screen in the SEC championship in 2009 (sealed the Heisman in my mind), the 75 yard run up the gut against MS St. in 2009 (was sitting smack dab in the middle of the Mississippi State faculty/staff section with a former roommate of mine from Bama who is on staff at MSU, I leaned over to him and in my best Keith Jackson voice said, "Hello Heisman!"...got the coldest looks form MSU staff remaining, who promptly accused us of running up the score:rolleyes::wink:), and of course, winning the Heisman.

Has it really been three years? They were great years, and I wish them all the best!

Julio:
1.2008 vs LSU, almost all the team tried to tackle him and he still ended up with 5-10 more yards.
2.last year vs arkansas the wide open catch from mcelroy after a trick wildcat play.
3.2008 SEC championship first TD, together with coffee's run.
4.the long run over LSU.

Mark:
1.1st TD in the National championship and showed his glove to the world.

Marcel:
1.Intercept return TD with texas.

agree with all of these. i do have to say watching mark barely able to stand up walking off the field in his teammates arms after his last td vs. SC in 2009. he literally left it all on the field on that drive.

I am right with you Mark 63 yard screen. Marcel pick six, but my favorite Julio moment was the LSU overtime catch when he was a freshman.

Julio-This year against Tennessee, his freshman year against LSU, and "the Drive" against Auburn.
Off the field: Pointing for CNS to keep on walking during practice and him holding the weight while Coach Cochran tried to pull it out of his hands-both from "Rolling with the Tide."

Mark-His game against South Carolina. His spot on "Rolling with the Tide", right before practice when he said..."you can either get better, or get worse everyday...I'm choosing to get better!" Is there a better embodiment of what an Alabama player's attitude should be?

Marcell-The obvious one of the BCS game last year. Also his last two games this year. He was a beast and showed why he should be a top ten pick.

My favorite Julio moment was the day he announced he was committing to the Tide. From there on, he lived up to the hype. And that is not the usual. It is not a moment per se, but the toughness to come out an play when most kids would not is something. Julio has apparently a steely resolve and a drive that rarely is seen in a kid........playing with a steel plate in his hand, etc. It would have been so easy considering his status in the draft to take a pass on playing. But no Julio. He is the toughest receiver I have ever seen at Bama.

For me Mark's shining moment was his Heisman acceptance speech. His next was the USC game 'drive".

Marcel's is pretty simple its the stiff arm spin move. For Marcel my second would be the way he handled the agent trip when it came to light. The way he handled that had a lot to do with how the NCAA handled it.

When it comes to Julio there is one moment that he made me smile the biggest. Against Clemson when he scored his first touchdown he simply walked over and handed the ref the ball. I was in the dome and remember saying "wow, that's the attitude I want to see". My second for Julio would be the 09 LSU games when Julio broke it open.

I agree with you all for the on field performances. However, these are my favorite off field performances.

Mark: His Heisman speech had every person in my house in tears. Best and most sincere, unrehearsed speech I have ever heard. I was just as proud of him as if he were my son.

Julio: The Crimson Tide All-Access where the players were stretching after practice and CNS is walking by and asks #8 if he was talking him today or if he should just move on the someone else. Julio did not look up from his stretch but just waved on coach off. CNS then says, okay, I'll just talk to someone else and move on to #4. You could hear the smile in coaches voice. IMO, that exchange showed the great relationship that Julio had with CNS.

Dareus: He acceptance speech after winning defensive player of the BCSCG. All he could say is yeah, we played real hard with a big grin on his face. He was so happy that he was speechless; it just made you smile, too.

Mark and Julio: On the sideline after the 09 SECCG, Mark doing the gator chop and Julio tieing the gator's mouth as if he had been captured. Priceless and an accurate summation of how our team had just man-handled UF.

I wish all three of these young men much success in life and long, injury-free careers in the NFL. Boys, you done the BAMA Nation proud. We couldn't have asked of any more from you. You are each very special and will hold a special place in our hearts. We will miss you.
