Just for the halibut... (what do you REALLY do?)

MadameSnapper's Servant

I merely serve at the pleasure of MadameSnapper. She allows me to own and manage an engineering services company contracted to the automotive industry.

Since this...

has become sort of a meandering thread, we now have a little black domestic long-hair, who adopted us about nine years ago. So smart, she's creepy sometimes. She's schizophrenic, when it comes to personality. Indoors, she's affectionate - cuddles, pats your cheek with her paw and has a variety of chirps, cheeps, clicks - never a meow. Outside, she turns into the avenging scourge of the rodent population. Last year, during a chipmunk plague (we live next to Monte Sano State Park), she killed 50 chipmunches in 60 days. Yesterday, she almost ended up with a companion - a friend had to give up several pets in order to move back to Mobile to take care of aging parents. It would have been interesting - a little Bichon Frise (little white mop of a dog). Didn't work out and probably just as well. Not sure the queen would share space...

What do you REALLY do?

I'm an administrator for cafeteria plans (which has nothing to do with food and everything to do with your pre-tax benefits, i.e, health, dental, medical reimbursement, etc.).

My other job titles include: mother, wife, cook, peace-maker, clothes washer, maid, chauffeur, and way too many others to list! :)

On the subject of pets, I have a cat named Cat, and a dog we call Barkey. No, he's not a dog that barks all the time, just thought it was a cute nickname. The dog is a registered English Cocker Spaniel. Registered name is Bayou Boogie Rouge. I also had another Cocker named Bayou Boogie Blanc that we called Boogie. Both finished with 3 AKC titles, Ch, CD, CDX. Then there was Mart-Am's Bayou Belle who we called Dumb Bell. We owned half of this dog with the ex wife of Rusty Hamer's brother, Marty (Mary Houston). Do any of you remember Little Rusty from the Danny Thomas Show? Rusty put a 357 to his head in 1990 and pulled the trigger. Dumb Bell lost an eye just before she turned one year old and never showed. We loved her anyway and she and Boogie died 3 days apart after my first wife and I divorced. They are burried side by side. Cat came from the animal shelter. He was about 2 years old and was due to be executed the next day. They told us as we were filling out the adoption papers. He is one spoiled cat.

Grad student at UA. I graduated in August with a B.S. in chemical engineering, and am working on my M.S. in chemical and biological engineering. I'm trying to finish in a year to start law school in the fall. I want to go into intellectual property law.

So, basically, I'm a career student... ;)
