I thought Bama players were doing it to mock the Scum in the Iron Bowl. Barners were the ones doing the Karate Kid thing.

It's been previously discussed I think. It's the Crane Kick(?) from the movie "Karate Kid" for which supposedly "when done correctly there is no defense" or something similar to that. I remember the movie but not being a huge movie fan I don't remember that line.

It originated in the original Karate Kid movie, as CrimSonami said. Daniel Son beat Johnny Lawrence with it.

The reason it is so big now, is the Cobra Kai series on Netflix, which is a continuation of the story with Daniel and Johnny both grown with teenage kids. It has been a fantastic series, if you are an old Karate Kid fan, but it is apparently huge with young people as well.

John Metchie started it for Alabama this season. I think he did it on his first TD against Miami.

Auburn players mocked us all game long with every little fart they made because they are hopelessly obsessed with Alabama. Which made it all the more hilarious when they lost and we rubbed it in their faces at the end.
