IIRC, guys like Sayin were part of practices leading up to last year's playoff but hadn't he already enrolled?

Don't know the procedure but wouldn't KR have to be enrolled to practice and I wouldn't think that could happen until after the 1st of the year?
He was enrolled and skipped the all star game to practice with us.

He will be a good one

KR should be Day 1 starter next season
He could very likely be the most talented QB on the roster when he shows up, but I think I'd still rather him get a year to get used to the speed of the college game, and gain a little more strength/mass before we put him out there as a starter. Maybe get some good reps like Tua did in year one. It's just a huge jump from any level of HS to the SEC and very few freshman start at QB without pretty big issues.

EDIT TO ADD:

I think the gradual warm up to increasing playing time in his first year greatly helped Tua out, and conversely, pushing Hurts to have to start his first year hindered his development. It's a small sample size, but it's the frame of reference...

The story I believe is he committed to CNS to be in a system he thought would prepare him for the NFL.

CKD runs a version of the air raid that I believe he didn't believe would prepare him. I believe this is why he transferred.

Think about it. If Sayin is really the kind of talented QB we thought, would CKD really say "I think you should transfer." Even with Mack coming and with the QB room we already had, you'd never tell a 5 star QB "I don't want you."
I dont think he ran him off either..............I dont think Sayin liked the offense that DeBoer ran and an offer came and he took it

Bold! But I like it.

I think the guy is special and as a QB he's very polished. But, he's a TF and the step up is BIG!

I played college basketball at an NAIA school. The leap from HS to college is incredible. But that was 35 years ago too and I do believe today's HS stars come in better prepared to play.

KR also played at the 6A level in Texas against great competition.

So, I don't think it's automatic that "he won't start."

He's been at the under armor game the whole time doing prep and absolutely blowing the lid off the place. Should join the team after thats over

I cannot stress how excited I am with Russell for whatever that's worth.
Can you elaborate on his "blowing the lid off the place?" I failed to record the game. I now he threw 1 TD pass. Sounds like he was super impressive in the practices, which is not surprising news based on what I've read about his talents/skills!
