I was watching the introduction press conference again today and I was reminded what CNS said then and has said all along about everyone connected with the program staying positive to help build the program into what we want it to be. Well I know everyone has a right to their opinion but sometimes I don't think those opinions when expressed in public help to create that positive situation. After reading some of the posts on this board I can't help but think some feel that our coaches don't know what they are doing and our players especially JPW are incompetent. I know it's not said in that many words but thats impression thats left.

We have lost to two good football teams, that very few folks gave us any chance to beat at the beginning of the year. Everyone that was not completely unrealistic knew this was not going to be a 10 win season.

Our coaches know what they're doing and our players are giving all they have, the least we can do is stay positive.

You should know by now, more coaching experts reside here than anywhere else in the world!!:)

I'm with you BamaJam, gotta stay positive and let the real experts do the rest. I'm more than confident they will!! :BigA:

Believe me I have noticed the level of unrewarded coaching expertise that resides here, on other message boards and on talk radio. I didn't want hurt anybodies feelings but I'll state it this way: If CNS was trying to install a Windows file server on his local area network, I might chime in on how he should do that. But since I make what I make to do that and he makes what he does to figure out the Alabama offense, I think I'll let him do it his way.

I have faith, that in the end, his way will lead the Alabama Football program to a championship level. I'm going to support him in any way I can, I'm going to start by keeping my amateurish opinions to myself or within my private friendship circle.

CNS says it best:

"I think everybody should take the attitude that we're working to be a champion, that we want to be a champion in everything that we do. Every choice, every decision, everything that we do every day, we want to be a champion. Everyone take ownership for what they need to do relative to their role, whatever it is, whether it's being a fan, a booster, be a good one. Any kind of supporter that you are for this team, everyone take ownership that we support each other so we can have the best possible football program that Alabama has ever had."

I'm just working to be a champion; enough said.

Agreed. I think we are about where I expected us to be. I want us to win every game and I watch with anticipation that it might happen. But I am realistic enough to know that Coach Saban and his staff have some work to do and it will probably be a few years before we all have the team we want. In the meantime, I am proud of these players and hope they continue to fight and improve in each game.

Well stated, Bama Jam! If I posted every 'thought' that occurs to me during the coarse of the FB season, Bayou would have definite competition in "lead poster" category on this forum!:) It does require some learned discipline to avoid public 'throw-ups', and I've not yet reached perfection, but think I avoid being a major smarty pants most of the time....I will admit each loss makes it harder to maintain 'cool' but I'm managing and I do not have those nightmarish what is it? thoughts as I've often had since CGS left. Love the boys in Crimson and White. Hate it for them when the plan doesn't always come together. But I do believe the plan will come together!

It is not going to happen over night. To those fans that want to win now, cool down and let the coaches coach and the fans just watch. I know it is painful, especially when Bama loses, but it will be worth it in the long run. Lets not mess this one up.

Ok. So no game day thread on Sat is needed because all of us should "just be watching". Tongue in cheek of course but seriously if we can't do a little Monday morning qbing what good is the board? No one is saying fire the coach, no one is saying give up on the process. A few critics of the QB/offense. That's terrible? 99% of the posts are just football banter by fans who want nothing more than to see the team do well. Heck, we'll even wait until next year for a MNC. :)

I love Alabama fans and I am one because we all hate to lose. I hate it so bad I can't really describe it. I'm not a good sport and I'm not one of those that think important life lessons are learned from the losing. I really believe deep in my heart Alabama Football belongs at pentacle of college football every year and someone is screwing things up if we are not there.

Everyone engages in "Monday morning QB'ing" but there's a point when it goes from being casual conversation to being destructive. Have you ever been at a game where the guy sitting next to you begins every sentence with "you know what I'd do", the first couple of times it doesn't make an impact 3-4 it's a little annoying, by the end of the game you're ready to choke him out.

I believe enough comments have been made about our lack of offensive production, our coaches know there is a problem, they certainly know it better than we do. I think it's time to shut up and let them do the job. It's Tuesday morning and it's time to hang up that QB thing and let experts handle it.

True True, Kinda hard to be positive after Fran, Shula, Price, and the 0-5 record against AU.
Like has been stated though it won't happen over night.

We have lost to two good football teams, that very few folks gave us any chance to beat at the beginning of the year. Everyone that was not completely unrealistic knew this was not going to be a 10 win season.
I was one of the people in the pre-season telling the people expecting 9 or 10 wins to be realistic and 7-5 maybe 8-4 was much more likely. That being said, in the pre-season the Defense was supposed to be the concern and the Offense was supposed to carry the load for the team in the early going. We have an experienced OL, QB and WRs. In practice the Offense was described as being "dominant." Through five games, the Offense really hasn't lived up to the hype and the Defense, while still a work in progress, has performed better than expected. So of course fans are left scratching their heads and speculating as to what is going on. As others have said, that's kind of the point of these message boards, right?

Heck, Cecil Hurt's most recent column, which only came out yesterday or today is entitled "Quarterback speculation can be healthy." So it would seem that he disagrees to a certain extent with your premise.

Coming into this season the offense was supposed to be stronger than the defense but that didn't mean that our offense was gonna dominate the other teams. That having been said, I just don't think that we've progressed far enough in our S&C program to dominate.

Like most people I get a little frustrated when we lose but I'm very optomistic concerning the future of our team. I really believe that next year we will be better, stronger and able to do more on both sides of the ball from a play calling standpoint. We all really do need to keep a positive attitude concerning our coaching staff and our players.
