I have had the pleasure of watching Alabama football for the better part of 30 years, I can't recalled a Bama RB as explosive as he is in the backfield.
Drake looks like he is shot out of a cannon. he hits the gaps or holes so quickly that he is in the second level before you know it. not too mentioned, he appears to go the distance with every touch!! Scary...

man, the guy is fun and exciting to watch. he also has some nice catches in space. we should put him in the slot with his speed.

got to love the Drake!!
He reminds me of Kerry Goode before the knee injury. I think he my have been the best ever at Bama if not for that.

Drake plays with a reckless abandon. He is fearless, throwing himself at holes. It is fun to watch. I told you all last season that he was going to be special and that he would be our best RB if he were at OSU.

My only concern is that he is going to get hurt playing this way, but better to play with no fear.

The best best part is how well Drake & TJ compliment each others running style, that change of pace gives DC's nightmares to plan for, they're equally good with their own running style..I actually prefer they way Drake hits the LOS faster & harder, but, I love how TJ is tough as nails to bring down..You're not going to arm tackle TJ..Gotta love our running game when it's clicking on all cylinders..It's a thing of beauty to watch & it's the best defense of the spread by controlling the LOS & killing the clock that keeps the spread offensive teams on the sideline watching our running games domination..That's Bama Football..

Players that play with "no fear" are far far less likely to get hurt as compared to those playing tentative.

I came into this year thinking Drake wouldn't be a great option at backup. I was hoping a freshman would be 2nd team. I also thought Phillip Sims would win the QB job over AJ, so what do I know?

Hes put on some weight and looks even faster. The guy is a flat out stud. He's just gotta work on holding onto the ball.

What's even more scary to think about is when you factor in Henry, Tennpenny, and Tyren Jones all be sharing the 'tater with Drake next year & that's not even considering the RB's we have committed in this years recruiting class(Bo Scarbough)....Tyren Jones is another RB in the mold of Drake..He's another one to keep an eye on next year as well..Gotta love "The Process"..

THAT'S the comparison I've been looking for! KG just couldn't come to mind. Thanks CullmanTide!
You are very welcome! I remember his freshman season in '83. His first step was extremely quick. His first game in '84 he had almost 300 all purpose yds against BC shortly after half time before going down.

Kerry was special. Dennis Riddle was pretty nifty. Who had a more dramatic Iron Bowl than Riddle in the middle?
Riddle was the guy they kept Alexander on the bench, actually Alexander kept Alexander on the bench. Either way, Riddle was good, but Alexander would have been sharing caries with him from the get go under coach Saban and probably own every rushing record we have.

He was gatorade player of the year of GA in his senior year. Not being an EE probably hurt his chance last year a little bit, but his year is his turn to show off his skills

No, SA wouldn't have been sharing carries. The same two items which kept him on the bench - refusing to learn to block and regarding S&C as optional would have kept him on the bench under Saban, maybe even longer...

Is Drake really that much faster than Yeldon, or does he just look like he is? I know Yeldon is pretty tall for a RB, so I've wondered if Drake just looks so much faster because he has a shorter stride and we're used to Yeldon's long legs not having to move quite so fast to move the same speed. I ask because Drake looks like he runs way faster to me, but I don't think that he could really be that much faster.
