Pruitt wasn’t going to be hired… especially with how Alabama’s basketball team is doing now. It was never going to happen.

Leonhard… his screwy contract mixed with NFL openings I don’t know if saban was going to wait much longer. But yeah he was probably the best realistically available.

Steele isn’t a bad hire and he understands Saban’s defenses. Something we really need.
We were 4 points away from a 1 vs 2 undefeated matchup in the sec title game against Georgia with BOB, Pete, and an injured Bryce Young. I really think we're going to be fine with these hires.

Didn’t Pete Golding understand Saban’s defense?

Seems like Steele will at least reestablish toughness and some of that energy and focus we all want to see. Also, I suspect this is his last hurrah so maybe he comes with a different perspective/appreciation? Be nice to see a younger guy on staff be named as Co-DC or at least a larger role. The hot name or young guy doesn’t always work out…it’s about more than winning the “press conference/ news cycle” but I’d prefer to win both! ;)

Here are KS's Scoring D's since leaving Bama in 2008

Clemson 2009, 2010, 2011 - 20.4 PPG (24th NCAA) 18.8 PPG (13th) 29.9 PPG (81st NCAA)

LSU 2015 - 24.3 PPG (41st NCAA)

AU 2016-2020 - 17.1 PPG (7th NCAA) 18.5 PPG (11th NCAA) 19.2 PPG (14th) 19.5 PPG (17th NCAA) 24.7 PPG (38th NCAA)

Miami 2022 - 26.8 PPG (67th NCAA)

His best season is 2016 with AU but if you notice his PPG got worse every single year and 2017-2022 are Pete Golding level numbers.

His average PPG for those 10 seasons with other teams is... 21.92 PPG

HARD PASS on that!!!

This is a TERRIBLE and LAZY hire.

Alabama fans: You can't look at the stats when discussing how bad Bill O'Brien is.

Color me extremely skeptical..................this isn't a good hire. If he proves me wrong I will admit it.............but I would have thrown the bank at Schumann.............SMH hard

It may not have been my pick, however the guy who gets paid 10 mil and hates to lose seems to think this is the best way and I have great faith in him. However you choose to view these hires they a huge upgrade from what we had.
