Im just sad that he never got a ring as instrumental as he has been with his numerous stops he has during the run.

But I also know Saban aint the only one playing chess at times. We got outcoached against UM.

So we all remember Kiffin “trolling” us with his tweet back in September about “T-Rob” being the “real DC”? Was it really just a “troll” or do you think he picked up or heard something?

Hear me out on this. Steele when hired last year at age 65, we all knew it was about “getting his time in” in the Teachers Retirement System of Alabama. All he needed was a year or two. CNS knew that as well. Do you think the plan all along was for Steele to be the short term fix with T-Rob being an “unnamed”’ co-dc and “dc in waiting”?

This I know. With Roberts most likely leaving Auburn for Florida, there is no way they promote Charles Kelly to DC and let him call things. They are coming after T-Rob. Almost as important, T-Rob is now the primary recruiter for Ryan Williams out of Saraland. If they pull in T-Rob, it could also mean losing him to Auburn as he isn’t signing until February.

I’m probably completely wrong on the Kiffin thing. But we all know Saban is playing chess while everyone is setting up the checker board. What kind of got me thinking this way was Chase Goodbread stating “this was not unexpected”.

Well, part of the problem is when you're wanting to play chess but are using checker pieces. The offensive line and the QB MUST GET BETTER!

He certainly had his best chance of his career this year, but totally collapsed in the worst possible moment

Wow, didn’t see this coming! Though not surprising I guess at his age. Thanks for everything Coach Steele. Thanks for helping Coach Saban rebuild Alabama as a physical program in 2007-2008, and thanks for being here at the end of your career. It was enjoyable watching a competent and physical defense this season. Enjoy retirement! 🫡

Looking at the game - Bama’s defense shut the door until the end, when it mattered. Take that 75 yards away from UM and look at their offensive production. You can’t virtually lockdown an offense for 56 minutes.
KS was secondary coach, then co DC before getting the gig. I think it may be time to move TRob up before he bolts for the Barn.

Happy Meal needs to have a long Time Out before he comes back to Bama. T-Rob or Schumann need to be next up. Sure kids get money now through NIL, but it's a character flaw knowing and doing something illegal. What's to say he won't do something again that isn't above board?

Buzzard isn't wrong on OL. KP is very likely going to be a heck of a player on the chess board, but isn't quite yet and I'm not sure any coach could speed that development up. It's just a HUGE task to start at LT as a true freshmen - we've had very few guys have success at that. SM, after giving us some really good work in 21 and 22, had something going on that reduced his effectiveness also.

I don't guess this is a surprise to the head man

Shouldn`t be, not if you respect your boss. My boss knew I was retiring from my position a full year in advance. Upper level positions, except when unexpected health issues arise, I think, require no less than six months IMHO.
