Again, this is what the AP says his own defense is claiming. Where is this coming from? Is there conflicting video? All I can find is that it took place off-camera...

I guess I was seeing ghosts, because Rosenbaum's grabbing his rifle just came up again on CNN...
As a reminder, WI has the same rule as most other states - the jury can convict for a lesser included charge, if it finds conflict in the evidence. IOW, murder can be reduced to voluntary or even involuntary manslaughter by the jury...
Judge got mad today. Prosecutor questioned Rittenhouse about him exercising his right to remain silent and hinted at evidence the judge ruled inadmissible.
Yeah, big mad. Apparently had to dismiss the jury twice to scold the prosecution for asking questions previously established as 'out of bounds'.
On the other hand the longer Rittenhouse is on the stand the more tenuous the situation gets for the defense. Surprised they had him testify.
If he is claiming self defense he needs to be on the stand.
You're right. They probably had it in the bag, but not putting him on the stand is a huge risk to take. Defendants who don't testify in self defense cases lose a whole hell of a lot more often than those who do.
I saw the video and there is NO VIDEO EVIDENCE he grabbed the gun; examiner said he could have grabbed it or just been close to it, not definitive either way. Video shows he wasn’t close enough to grab it when first shot was fired, and examiner said the second shot hit his hand. If he had grabbed the gun as KR suggests, first shot would likely have hit his hand.
Somebody is not telling the truth; jury gets to decide who they believe.
Testimony was given that KR was running from the guy and again, video shows him walking when he turned and fired, which also immediately followed him hearing a gunshot.
I don’t buy his breakdown on the stand either because up until that point, he was cool as a cucumber.
The guy who hit him with the skateboard grabbed the gun; that was Huber.
The video I saw of the other guy never showed him touching the gun; I don’t know if there’s another video showing anything different.
If he insisted on testifying against his lawyer's advice (I'm not suggesting this is the case; I'm speaking generally), the lawyer can't stop him.
Medical examiner explained the shots and said Rosenbaum could have grabbed the gun or just been close to it. Video I saw doesn’t show him grabbing the gun before he was shot, as KR testified.
This is a case where someone is careless with other people's lives and they die, but he claims fear and will walk. But that is America now. This whole country is broken. We live in fear of one another. We deserve what is coming.
Two separate witnesses (neither of whom have any relationship with Rittenhouse) say they heard Rosenbaum threaten that he was going to kill Rittenhouse, after which Rosenbaum began chasing Rittenhouse.
Baseless fear, obv.
Are you watching the trial at all or are we banking on being strident and emotive to make our point?
Prosecution witnesses literally said these things. That's kind of important.
