Re: Lane Kiffin a candidate for 49ers OC job

Thank you for this sane post in the midst of the insanity coming mostly from the Twittersphere and AlabamaIntel. They more I see the latter referenced on the board the less confidence I have in the source.
The source said that in his opinion LK will take the 49ers job if offered. Nothing definite just one mans opinion.

And as I mentioned earlier in the thread, just about every outlet that covers pro or college football has mentioned LK to the 49ers as a strong possibility. Yahoo, ESPN.com, NFL.com etc

Well you're welcome! I may turn out to be completely wrong, but I look at it like this.....
A rumor is started from a media guy who has "reliable source"...
Some Bama fans expect an official press conference to deny and dismiss the rumor!
From a fan perspective that would be wonderful!! It's security.
From Saban and Kiffin's perspective, it's a total waste of time and effort.
They know that their job is to get results, not to make sure a group of insecure fans are relieved of their anxiety.
We'll see, but personally, I think Kiffin loves his current job and doesn't want to leave it.
sip

You have the Jimmy Sexton factor too. If I'm not mistaken, he's Kiffin's agent. I think our fan base has seen the show before. We just need to chill out about it.

Do you have a link that states LK bought a house in Tuscaloosa to move his family here? I googled it and found nothing. I would love to read about it..
Sip made a mistake in his post, he meant to say Jimmy Johnson. :rolleye2:

LK just bought a house in Tuscaloosa to move his family here. Guys, he ain't going nowhere.
I think he and Coach Saban are just messing with the media to make them look like idiots when all is said and done. Truly do. Afterall, neither like the media very much.
Remember the Texas debacle? Everybody upset because Coach Saban didn't sign the new contract on his desk, immediately?
He kept saying he was just busy recruiting, and everybody went nuts.
This is the same scenario I truly believe.

That "game" Coach Saban and Jimmy Sexton were playing wasn't with Texas or the media.

Alabama football is bigger than any one coach! It will survive!

This is the most logical & sane post on the thread. It's fun to speculate but really, he acts very happy here as did CNS was last year when the TX stuff started.
Kiffin is staying & we are going to have the most explosive offense ever in Alabama History.

you want something to worry about? The Defense needs a lot of help, but CNS is on his way to fixing it now.

Unfortunately that post doesn't appear to be true. Myself, along with a moderator, have looked for that article about LK buying a house in Tuscaloosa to move his family and we haven't found any such article. Maybe it does exist but until there is a link posted to it I don't buy it. If I make a statement of fact like that I always post a link or screenshot of the source.

If LK recently bought a house and made the statement he was moving his family to Tuscaloosa it would have been reported by every major outlet that covers college football and the NFL. I haven't seen a single report stating the aforementioned..

Re: Lane Kiffin a candidate for 49ers OC job

Folks, it is what it is! Coach Kiffin came to Alabama to learn from coach Saban and in exchange Coach Saban got a taste of a different and more aggressive passing game (Which has gotten Bama some good QB recruits). CLK did "fantabulous" job of coaching and teaching Blake Sims in just a few months! If he leaves I have no "hard feelings" towards him because to me he has earned the offers he is receiving. There are other coaches and teachers out there that can deliver the same type of game for CNS and they would die for an offer to coach at Alabama. He may have been just an "experiment" for Coach Saban on Offense. We may never know. Just appreciate this moment and what we have because most schools don't have many of these moments.

Coach Fran gave us a wonderful ten win season and beat the fool out of the entire SEC ...let's all remember the good things he did. He earned that job at Texas A&M.

FWIW, I think this is the right attitude to have.

Lane Kiffin was going to coach again whether he came to Bama or not. Bama might have fast forwarded his coaching renewal, but it's not like he was never going to coach again.

I'm honestly not concerned about the offense no matter what happens with CLK. I hope he returns but if not..."next"

I'm more concerned about our defensive backfield figuring out how to stop 3rd and 13.

Re: Lane Kiffin a candidate for 49ers OC job

It wasn't Scarbinski.. I linked to this site from Al.com yesterday after reading Scarbinski's column. Finally found it.
I knew I hadn't lost my mind.

http://blog.sfgate.com/49ers/2015/0...abama-and-would-49ers-fans-want-him-to-do-so/
"However, prying him from Alabama will be a challenge. Kiffin does feel indebted to Saban, who hired him when nobody else would. Secondly, Kiffin recruited Blake Barnett from Corona, Calif., who is considered to be the best quarterbacking prospect from the West Coast. Kiffin also recently bought a house in Alabama for his wife and young family."
