It appears to me that young people today are trained differently, if they’re trained at all, than when us older Boomers were being raised. My father, who was a terrific football player but never pushed me to play, only wanted me to play some sort of team sport. He didn’t care if it was football or tiddlywinks. He said that there was something you got out of being a part of something greater than just yourself and having others depending on you to do your job to accomplish something greater than each individual. He was right IMO.
