I read it. He assaulted a man who suffered life altering injuries and wants to avoid paying the civil penalties which resulted from his actions. Meanwhile the man who he injured will suffer for the remainder of his life.

This is not credit card debt. He should have to pay this man for the rest of his life.

The implication of the other posters was that this was NIL gone bad. It isn’t, and that was my only point.

It appears to me that young people today are trained differently, if they’re trained at all, than when us older Boomers were being raised. My father, who was a terrific football player but never pushed me to play, only wanted me to play some sort of team sport. He didn’t care if it was football or tiddlywinks. He said that there was something you got out of being a part of something greater than just yourself and having others depending on you to do your job to accomplish something greater than each individual. He was right IMO.

The difference in a parent using a sport to mold and help transition a young person to an adult and using a sport to make your son and yourself millions of dollars. These two things are not the same.

Did you guys even read the article? He filed Chapter 7 over a year ago and the bankruptcy was triggered by an $11M judgment against him from an incident when he was 15. It’s not because he got a bunch of NIL money and spent 10x that…

These kids are asking for more control than NFL players have.

What's going to happen when they turn pro and realize there are more restrictions on them at that level?
