Well they certainly taught y'all to write well down there. Hope we can be hospitable in everyway except on the gridiron.

Here's a decent highlight montage from prior to the SoCon championship. Not much compared to Bama, but I think there is some decent stuff here.

You will see some yellow school buses here, and believe it or not that's how we show up for every game. When the program was re-started in the 80s, with no $$$, a couple of spare Blue Bird buses from the Bulloch County board of education were only way to transport the players to the games. Eventually they became a fixture and tradition that GSU fans love. They are true pieces of crap. If they are bringing those things to the game in Tuscaloosa, I imagine they left on Tuesday, because they will have broken down 8 times between here and there. But we love them. Reminds us where we came from, and gets the players in a good mind set prior to games. No creature comforts, just a sense of team.

And here are some of the highlights this season:

A 59-24 beatdown, probably the biggest of Tressel's career. :D
This was the greatest game for me to watch. I still love watching it and looking at Tressel's face as he watches in disbelief. Here's a few clips from that game. We don't have the same coach, or any of the same players, but our concept is pretty much the same. Looking forward to the game. If we ever plan on moving to the next level we have to see where we stand playing against the best.

That was indeed a great post about GSU's great tradition that paid homage to Alabama's storied history. Thanks to all of the Bama fans for the kind words. I am a huge Bama fan who has worked at UA for 13 years. I have attended many Alabama games, we tailgate every home game on the quad, but this will be the first Bama game where I will be dressed in blue and white! I went to Georgia Southern, so I have to support my team.

We have a great winning tradition at Georgia Southern. I was fortunate enough to be a student there for 4 national championships (85, 86, 89, and 90- I stayed for my master's). When Erk Russell came to Georgia Southern and started the football program, many thought he and our President were crazy for skipping Division 2 or 3 and going straight into Division I-AA. The naysayers shut up when we beat Furman for the national championship in 1985 in our 2nd year of NCAA play. True that we don't play at the same level as Alabama, but we play some exciting football, and our fans love our Eagles.

That's what it's really all about.
