Given that most people agree that Bama's D is the closest thing to an NFL defense (in terms of coaching, scheme, and personnel) that a college team will face, how much does a second straight shut down of Fournette hurt his draft stock?

If he ran with his legs like he does with his mouth, he might be successful. He may do well in the NFL, but he will never win a NC with LSWho.

RBs are simply not as in demand in the NFL as much as they probably should be. I don't think his draft stock is hurt at all. It's not uncommon for the best in the NFL to go against a great defense and be limited to 30-40 yards.

In the last eight drafts, only TWO running backs were chosen in the top five:
Trent Richardson
Ezekiel Elliott

So I'm not sure it matters.

You must've heard something I didn't hear, and I acknowledge that that is entirely possible, but everything I've heard Leonard Fournette say has been respectful and in pretty good taste. He was asked by reporter if he thought they would win and he said yes, but he didn't talk any trash and in fact was complimentary. I came away with a positive impression of him after that interview.

Oh, and I think his draft stock is just fine and that RBs may be making a bit of a comeback in the NFL

In the last two games against Alabama, Leonard Fournette has 38 carries for 66 yards. The average yard per carry here is equivalent to tripping over the water cooler.

LF will do fine in the NFL once he has an O Line that can protect him. I really like him but am glad to see him go to NFL so we don't have to worry about him next year. Guice is almost as good though.

He's playing hurt on a one dimensional offense. He'll do fine in the NFL.

agreed - feast or famine. Trent busted, Elliot (so far) is doing very well.
I think LF is better than either one so I think he goes pro this year (he's taken a lot of hits so far in almost three years) and will be taken by a team with no running game.
Like Seattle.

I think Fournette will do well in the NFL. Unfortunately for him he was at a school that totally relied on him for their offense. In the NFL teams have more balance on offense. If LSU would have had a passing game that we really needed to respect he would have done better against us.

The story isn't Fournette against Alabama's defense, it's LSU's offensive line getting absolutely owned by Alabama's defense.

LF will be just fine in the NFL.
You could substitute, according to the stats, the O line of any team Bama has played.
66 yds per game rushing? in the SEC? That's stupid good.

.????? Just provide one example of LF running his mouth.

His stock isn't hurt at all. Yes, Bama D lineman are like NFL lineman, but he will have a line in front of him that can block those guys.
He mouth was running more last night than his legs were. He craps his pants every time he sees Crimson. Maybe he turns into a solid NFL back. Time will tell.
