The last 5 games we have worn white, we lost 4. The last 5 games wearing crimson, we've won 4. Just something to think about, don't take it too seriously

The fact...

that we've, on average, played much better in crimson has been known for decades. Although we've played some really good games in white, the after-burners come on in crimson. That's why I chuckled when SOS said he was going to make us wear crimson. "Yes, coach, throw us in that brier patch..."

I actually saw excerpts from a study saying that teams that wear red win at a significantly higher percentage than teams that wear other colors. The article was suggesting that it creates a subconscious intimidation factor.

I don't know if I believe it, but it's interesting, and hey, I'll take what I can get

the team looks bigger to me in crimson, faster in white. we've also been wearing black cleats for awhile now, taking a page out of joe pa's book: tricking the opponent into thinking you're slower than you really are. i love the classic unis. i feel we have the best road unis of any team, and penn state has the best home unis. hopefully we'll never change (a la nebraska; tragedy).

I hate to say it, but I liked our white shoes better. We looked faster.

But I can live with black shoes. What I don't like are Alabama's white uniforms under Nike. They're almost see-through, and when you combine sweat and/or rain with those red pads a lot of our guys wear under the jerseys, the white turns to pink. It looks like we've been bloodied.
