and you just wanted to shoot it to end the suffering...

That's what this game looked like. This is the ONLY time in 30 years of going to Bama games that I've left early. My family goes to EVERY game and we ALL left at the ~11 min mark. We just couldn't watch any more, and we couldn't shoot anyone (although we wanted to ;) ), so we walked out.

I have NEVER been so sick in my life, going back to Curry's loss to Memphis State back in the 80's...that was close, but tonight really takes the cake.

I have TRIED to be patient, to give the benefit of the doubt for this coaching staff, but after tonight, the gloves are off...no more holding back...these kids are VERY talented, and deserve MUCH more than what they're getting.

there needs to be an EMERGENCY nationwide search for a QB coach NOW. SURELY there's someone out there that can come in and get Guillon and Pennington on track. It seems that we just don't have a QB, and it's very painful...

MAN, losing hurts, but losing ugly is just embarassing...

BUT, I'm glad Keith is alright!

Tide 'til I die....

well...

just curious, how empty were the stands when you left bleeder?
It looked like the stands were about 25% empty when leaving, but by the time we got to the exits, they were 40-50% empty, and outside the stadium, there were SO MANY folks, it looked JUST LIKE it would've at the end of a "normal" game...

I'm ashamed, but I just couldn't watch!

Albertville guy

After this display 4 wins will be hard!Guys we must look at this with open eyes...it's very ugly, and almost too painful to watch. I was there also.and I stayed, but it was sad very sad....and I agree the kid's deserve much better than their getting. Also,if CMS comes back with some do not blame me interviews this week I think I'll puke!

We may get 2 more wins and that's it. KU, and MSU. These kids deserve a better coaching staff than there getting. The season just got painfully long. Last nights game was totally embarracing. One thing tho, Lou Holts showed some class by not running up the score. Which he could have.

:biga: I agree... maybe 2 wins more...... and tonight was embarracing with all the mistakes and interceptions..... I never thought I would see a game like this or fans leaving the game early ........ but it has happened. And just like we showed class against Ole Miss by not scoring at the end, Lou did the same....... this was the worst game Ive ever seen in all my 38 years of watching..... ok, so i was 7 when i started paying attention..... the Bama-Nebraska game was my first vivid memory...... but anyway...... man, we need some coaching, some disipline and some enthusiasm..... which goes back to coaching.....

I was at home watching it and I had to turn it off in the 3rd

quarter, it was just too painful to watch. It's extremely obvious that neither Guillon or Pennington were or are ready. That being said, I just don't understand why the staff didn't modify, maybe radically modify the game plan and throw in some trick plays, new wrinkles, anything to give the team a chance.

Like I said in an earlier post, the similarity to Mike Dubose is eerie: a coach seemingly out of touch with reality, no leadership from the other coaches, game plan is awful, no fire or emotion.

My greatest fear is that some players are going to roll over and quit, like they did with Dubose and recruiting is going to go in the tank. I truly do see a worse season next year with the wheels really falling off, maybe going 2-9.

At that point, will CMS be fired? I think he will be. 3 losing seasons in a row would be just too much to swallow. Would Mal Moore also be shown the door? If CMS doesn't work out, that would be 3 HCs he hired and all 3 didn't work out for one reason or another. To quote Jimi Hendrix "And that ain't too cool!"

I don't know, I just see VERY grim days ahead. I'd love to be wrong but I don't think so.

I was watching the game at home and turned it over and watched the rest of the two teams I hate most. But I did love seeing fat phil on the sidelines and tenn loosing BIG!

What a debacle!

That was the most embarrassing, sad, poor excuse for an effort I think I've ever witnessed from an Alabama team. At least they attempted to open up the play calling earlier in the game, but Guillon just doesn't have down-field vision. And as for Pennington...I just don't have the words to explain that performance.

I can't even be angry about it. I'm just incredibly sad. :frown:

Do you seriously mean hunt for a new coach now? At this point in the season? At this point in our program when we've gone through coaches like MAD?

Do you have anyone in mind who has NOT ALREADY told us "NO"????

Now I know it's not us fans who have caused this idea in the heads all the potential coaches- it is the "enemy" who has put the notion in their heads that we run off coaches, make their lives miserable, etc etc ---- & they tell all this about us saying that winning tradition has us spoiled, etc, but it doesn't hold water - because the enemy comes back with the statement that we are not only spoiled fans, but rather when the chips are down, we become spoiled brats & don't show loyalty to our coaches) - So no one wants to coach here. Its a sad thing. I hate this. I AM NOT SAYING I AGREE with this - I am only telling you the info that other coaches hear & think they see. I HATE IT.

Fans

Shame on all of you!!! So if Bama is on top it's okay to stay until the end of the game, but otherwise y'all pick up your marbles and leave. So if Bama is having a problem - a bad game - you'lll just hang your head and leavre. It's all about YOU - huh? You people are pitiful!!!!!!! :mad2: :mad2:

If you reread my post, you'll see I was talking about a QB coach. Someone to come in and work with Thrash, Guillon, and SP to make them QB Gods! Surely there's someone out there who can do it and do it well...Improvements CAN be made...but DR is not the one to do it, at least from what we've seen so far...

How do you people think it LOOKS when "fans" leave before the game is over? How do you think the team FEELS when they see "fans" leave before the game is over? Y'all are a sorry excuse for Bama fans!!!

I don't want to hear that mess from you, CN! We go to EVERY game, road (with 2 young kids as well) and home, and have stayed EVERY game. We have NEVER left early...NEVER! But, last night was soooo painful, so hideous, that we chose to "not watch" the bleeding, convulsing, carcass in so much pain... I PRAY we never have to consider that again, but calling US "non-fans" is WAAAY out of line, CN....

BTW, were you there, CN?

How 'bout chilling out a bit. You always make it personal with people. Ever notice that?

How 'bout y'all chilling out a bit. Personal? You people haven't made it personal? You've criticized the team, the coach, etc., etc., and that's not personal?

No I wasn't at the game only because I didn't have a ticket. If I had been I'd have stayed until the end to support my team.

And if y'all have a right to come on this board and criticize everyone and everybody about tha game yesterday, you better be able to take some criticism yourselves.

I hope the team and the coaches took a good, hard look at the crowds leaving, and I hope it hurt. I hope it hurt bad. I hope they realize that when you coach and play like that, the people spending good money to come see you will be disappointed. And I hope it makes them think long and hard about what their doing in practice and on the field. Something is not right here... something is NOT right and I don't have a clue what it is right now, but my fear is that it starts at the top. I can't imagine that being the case, but it may be.

Again, I wonder what could have been if from the beginning, guys would have caught the damned ball and give Guillon a little confidence. Maybe it wouldn't have meant much, but I have to believe it would've helped.

there were FREE tickets at the game....

This is America...we're fans. It is OK to discuss football here, the last time I checked..."Get ye the board out of your own eye before worrying about your brother's splinter" (<paraphrased>).

Pitiful...
