That feels like a mis-application of the rule...

If you are going to the ground while making the catch, then you have to maintain control through contract with the ground.

However, in that case, he took a step after gaining control before going to the ground...

Lsu looks greatly improved on both sides of the ball. Clemson is a tough place to play, and they're playing well, if not better than the home team. The game in Tuscaloosa will be a battle!!!
