Agents control the hiring of coaches. Coaches put a lot of trust in their agents so much so in some cases I know. If your agent calls and says it time to make a move, you move.

Not honoring a contract automatically forecloses you from shopping from the A List of Coaches Available. The best LSU can hope for in this search will be a B List coach. Bank on it.

I think they are in a state of desperation. They know LSU is starting to fade from the elite of CFB and they are trying to grasp onto anything that can keep them at the top of CFB world.

In a nutshell that video is why Saban won 7 NC's and Kelly hasn't won any at the D-1 level.

Pretty much. In the spring of 2022, they did their level best to find something…anything to fire Harsin “for cause”. Everything from player abuse to infidelity. And there was nada…zilch…nothing.

Only difference here is that LSU probably does have some “things” to leverage. But it pretty hard to leverage a morals clause in a contract when knew “the history” of the guy you hired from day one.

In other words “we are firing you for cause because you are a terrible person”. The defense? “You knew what I was when you hired me. You knew what you were getting…”


Edit: I’m also beginning to wonder as well if there is some kind of Title IX issue with Kelly or assistants? This is pure speculation on my part I will admit. Not long ago there was piece written that along the lines that some Athletic Department employees had stated that many of the changes that were promised after the Les Miles sexual harassment situation were never implemented.

Whatever is going on, LSU and the Governor is this into a Chinese Fire Drill.
