this is what I have read,
the money was embezzled from a hospital by the booster then given to the father.
Booster embezzlement from hospital foundation reported as $500K.
So the booster stole money from a hospital (presumably his employer, though I don’t know that for sure), and committed a major criminal felony in the process, and will now likely spend time in jail.

Then he gave at least some of the proceeds of the felony to the father of a high school football recruit, and in the process committed a major NCAA violation for which the school will pay?

Misplaced priorities doesn’t begin to describe that mindset.

I feel like LSU and their fans are basically writing off this year. I know they won big over South Carolina on Saturday, but that's really no huge feat. SC on the road is as bad as anyone in the conference.

Imagine at Alabama, in one of the years when we win it all, to just "accept" that the next season is going to be a mess, even in non-CoVID seasons? Wouldn't happen.

Like I said a couple days ago, if either LSU or Auburn wants to build any consistency, they have to stop measuring their programs by whether they beat Alabama or not.

I think we were all blowing it off (LSU fan here). You can’t expect to contend when you lose as much as we did, 2 offensive gurus (Munoz and Brady) and our DC. It’s a miracle we can even score. We’re deep at WR and for some reason we’re deep at QB. We don’t have a defense (this is LSU we’re talking about). It’s a weird season.

If you play Clemson in the NC I’ll be pulling for ya. Can’t stand those fans.

We contend a lot too. Not as much, but finish in the top 10 most of the last 8 years. We’ve still won 3 championships with 3 different coaches, and honestly had one of the most overrated, terrible coaches of all time who’s about to get fired at Kansas State. Y’all have been fortunate enough to have our former coach for as long as you have.

Really? You guys lose your DC, PGC, top offensive analyst, changing to a 4-3, 6 NFL starters (maybe 7 if Delpit panned out), 2 future NFL players opting out? Damn that’s pretty good you guys lose that every year and still contend.

Pretty close, honestly. Massive turnover has been quite common - everyone seems to want a piece of Saban's "magic" - yet Bama is rarely not in the playoffs...

Maybe you should do a little research. We go through quite a turnover on an annual basis.....and maybe tone it down a bit as a visitor. Just a friendly suggestion. Roll Tide.

I was very glad LSU won the championship game last year. I'm almost always for SEC teams ( other than AU).

I'm thinking that LSU could be in real trouble with the NCAA. It sounds like they should be!

I was a young boy in rural south Alabama in the 1950's. My Dad and I could always pick up the New Orleans radio station so we'd listen to LSU games whenever we couldn't get the Alabama game. LSU was and is my 2nd-favorite SEC team after Alabama. I agree it's hard to lose all that LSU lost and return strong the next year. The fact that Coach Saban has been able to do it year after year IMO ensures his place as the GOAT in college football coaching.

Mister Falcon,
Go back and look at the player/staff turnover Bama has gone thru the past 7 or 8 years.
Y'all are just getting a small taste of it.
What I think is that your coach/admin has the mindset that they finally won something again and stopped working hard and rested on past accomplishment rather than continue to work hard. Kind of like Tubberville at AU.
Ogre is a GREAT rah rah coach (gotta give him that) but not sold on his ability to sustain a high level of consistency/performance in his program.

As for the thread topic: If this were Bama involved in this stuff we'd never have an athletic dept again. So, forgive is if we're a little jaded and don't come to y'alls defense.

Listened to many LSU games from New Orleans!
