After Orgeron’s rants on our field and in the locker room after beating us this year, I cry no tears for him over anything. Ever.

They had a great team, and a great year. There’s no doubt they were the best team in the country. They acted with all the class of a North Frenchman Street ”procurer,” and that comes from the top of the program...the head coach.

If there’s a game this year in Baton Rouge, I hope we shove those rants down his throat and make him say they taste good.

He’s now my second-most despised head coach of all time, behind only Phil Fulmer.

That said, gloating feels real good on the way out, and tastes awful coming back. Something I hope Orgeron is about to learn.

It’s only a matter of time before one of our players sits out for personal gain. You could say Blake Barnett already did. Regardless of how it might be defined, it’ll happen to every team in the country.

Maybe it happens to us this year, maybe not. It’ll happen sooner or later.

I wouldn't be surprised if LSU completely falls apart this year...not saying they will...but it wouldn't surprise me.
I still need to see Coach O sustain something beyond how long he can scream and yell like he's in the WWE to think he's a long-term answer as a head coach anywhere.

I still expect them to be pretty good.

They have 4 losable games:
@Florida
@Auburn
Home to Bama
@ TAMU

I think they split those games and go 8-2 and finish second in the West.

Probably a good early assessment and prediction. I have no idea what Florida has coming back and any game played at Auburn the visiting team is already behind 10-0 before kickoff.

Is Mond coming back at QB for Jimbo? Seems like he's been there forever. If Mond is returning with another year in Jimbo's system LSU may have a hard time handling him.

I think Mond is a Senior this year and so I guess he is starting. His backup is Hayes (a freshman). Jimbo seems to every year come out and say Mond is going to have a breakout year and then looks like a rollercoaster. You'd think Fisher could pull in a great qb as long as he's been there and he's the OC.

Mond is back for Texas A&M. I don't buy that this is necessarily good for Texas A&M.
Maybe not over the length of the season. But with the amount of "new" that is on the Baton Rouge roster, including the coaching staff, having a quarterback that isn't learning the system has to be an advantage in that game.

I disagree. He's not consistently accurate, but he got the ability to run and with LSU bringing a new DC and replacing all of their LBs it may make for a long night. He's a solid SEC QB with the ability to make plays with his feet. As an LSU fan those are the guys I'd be worried about.

Miss st will be a good opening test for Lsu. their 3 away games are all losable as Coach Jeff posted.
Ole Miss with Kiffin at the helm is always interesting. and of course, Alabama will be out for blood in BR.
some on their board are predicting a 6-4 or 5-5 worst case scenario.
I tend to believe they will lose 3 to 4 games. with all these attritions, I expect depth to rear its ugly head as the season goes along.

I think LSU will still be a good team, but not great. They have the athletes. They may lose 3 games at most. By the time Bama plays them, they will either be very competitive, or have serious lack of depth due to injuries (not counting lack of depth they have already).

I saw on Facebook this morning that Coach O expects a few others to opt out, but the article did not mention names. I think it was from a presser he gave this morning.

In some ways, I wish we could play LSU sooner, like maybe game 2... so we can beat them early while they are still adjusting to all the players/coaches they lost. Bama won't get that chance for the "revenge"game if the season stops due to Covid before Nov. 14.

I'll be tickled pink if we're still having a football season November 14th. LOL!

Here’s the difference between us and LSU...Bama is built for sustained success. What you saw last year was similar to 2010 Auburn: getting/putting the right pieces together at the right time
I agree that they experienced the combination of good luck and great coaching (Aranda) on Burrow. No way anybody could have predicted that blossoming.

But as much as I despise Orgeron, you have to give him credit as a recruiter. He has far more consistent talent, across all positions, than the barn ever does or ever will under Malzahn.

How much of last year was (1) a lightning-in-a-bottle combination of talent and great co-ordinators, as opposed to (2) O himself? While I suspect it’s heavily the former, none of us know that for sure. If there’s a season, we’re about to find out.

O has the luxury of recruiting the talent rich state of Louisiana with no other top D1 school in the state to challenge him. Its been that way for a long time. La. consistently produces good WRs, CBs, and DL , that in itself saves him from ever going on empty in his gas tank. Furthermore, Lsu has always had success recruiting Texas much like Oklahoma has for years.
