Man eats 25,000th Big Mac, 39 years after his 1st  | accessAtlanta

Gorske, who appeared in the 2004 documentary "Super Size Me," which examined the fast food industry, looks nothing like one might expect of a fast food junkie. He's trim and walks regularly for exercise, and he attributes his build to being "hyperactive." He said he was recently given a clean bill of health and that his cholesterol is low.

I heard this story on K-Love Monday morning. It really is an amazing one to be honest. That after this many Big Macs that his cholesterol or something wouldn't be out of whack. But as many in the medical field will tell you "off the record" more than they will "on the record". A person's genetics plays a big, big part in their health.

This, plus being "hyperactive."
A friend of mine from college does landscaping, so he is active his entire workday, and he also does the iron man competitions. When he's training, he is on something like a 20,000 calorie diet. He has certain benchmarks with his diet in terms of protein, carbs, and so forth, but he eats a lot of junk too, particularly for lunch on the job. He eats fast food for lunch every day, and not like a 6 inch sub from Subway.
He's 35, and his wife claims that he has near perfect health. He's a big believer in being constantly active, as opposed to sitting at a desk job all day, and running 3 miles before or after work. He's probably the most energetic person I've ever known.

Yeah I'll agree here. I am amazed though at those cases where people do not have this type of lifestyle and yet can eat very freely yet stay relatively in good health. My wife's brothers are just like this. They have great genes. Unfortunately I wasn't blessed with any.

Gorske's obsession with the burger ....... started May 17, 1972, when he bought three Big Macs to celebrate the purchase of a new car. He was hooked, and went back to McDonald's twice more that day, eating nine before they closed.

Nine in one day?

Those things are known for the sesame seed buns. And sesame seeds have been linked to colon cancer.

I guess this dude has debunked that theory.

Eating 10,000 Big Macs takes a big appetite and a disregard for one's health. Eating 25,000 Big Macs takes ambition and an intense, Saban-like commitment and focus.

I can literally count on one hand the number of Big Macs I've eaten in my life. Don't care for McDonalds hamburgers...their fries, on the other hand, are the best extremely fattening thing in the world.

If I remember correctly from the documentary, this guy never eats the fries. That's another part of the amazing formula that's keeping this guy alive.

I think you're right. Fried food is absolutely horrible for the body. Fast food wouldn't really be that unhealthy if fries/tater tots/onion rings were substituted for a side salad. A whopper and a side salad isn't really all that unhealthy. Its when we start ordering the fries then super sizing them is when the enourmous amount of calories begin to kick in.
