Yeah... But the durndest thing about TiVo'ing, Taping, etcetra, is that someone will tell you the score of the game before you get to watch it. Now, I would still watch the game, but it would take away that butterfly feeling of never knowing what will happen next!

Speaking of Tivo, there's something you always need to do when Tivoing a game. Make sure you Tivo the program that comes on after the game too. Because if the game goes over its allotted time you'll miss the end. I learned this the hard way.

Or just go into the preferences and have it record 3 additional hours. That way you don't have an interruption and can send to DVD or VHS with no problems.

I can beat that. My 1st cousin got married the day of the Iron Bowl (it was the year that it wasn't on the traditional weekend). As a result, barely anybody showed up for the wedding.

I don't know why people schedule marriages during football season. I specifically had my wife schedule our wedding outside of football season for this very reason. I can pretty much guarantee that my best man would not have been my best man otherwise.

Nothing beats Sirius Satellite when you're driving to and from games... they have non-stop programming, and a contract with the SEC. Plus they pick up a lot of other conference and non-conference games.

I don't know about TiVo but Dish Network DVR can be programmed by the hour and channel. So you don't have to select programs, you set it to record from one time until another time.

How?

When you select the program you want to record, there should be an "Options" button to the right of the "Record" button. Select "Options" and you can extend the time of your recording.

Extra padding safeguard
No, not around your middle! "Pad" shows that traditionally run over scheduled times so you don't miss a minute. When scheduling a recording, select "Options." Highlight the line labeled "Stop Recording," and use the RIGHT ARROW to push the time out by 1, 2, 5 minutes (or even three hours if it's an awards show or football game).
