I will say this in general about Shreveport. It has become a cesspool of violent crime over the last 10-15 years. Before this incident, my wife and I had already made the decision that once we retire. We are moving not only out of Shreveport, but the state of Louisiana altogether.

That violence is one of the main reasons we left Memphis, but we decided not to wait until retiring. Some of the cities are seemingly hopeless.

My wife is begging me to move now. But the problem is we're in the state retirement plan and I've still got 12 years before I can retire. She can retire with full benefits in four years. I've been working here long enough to where I'm chest deep and leaving would be financially devastating for my retirement. The retirement system does not allow service years rollover or transfer to another state's retirement plan. So, we're "stuck" until I'm 62. I'm 50 now.

I get it - we are blessed in that I can work from anywhere. There are difficulties in building a new studio, etc., but I'm not tied to any one place, so once our youngest was off to college we got the heck outta dodge...

I watched the local news at lunch and the newest information coming out about the mass shooting in Shreveport, La, is the wife was going to divorce him and two nights before the shooting a neighbor heard them arguing from inside their house. In other words, they were arguing inside their home, and it was so loud the neighbor could hear it from inside of her house.

I don't understand what could have made this psycho do this. He was apparently quite the ladies man considering he convinced 2 different women to sleep with him. He had kids with both and apparently they lived in the same neighborhood or the other woman was somehow in the house with his wife? I am very confused about that part.
